What an incredible experience! Where to start.... They provide you with a (paid of course) transfer from the airport. Take it... It's worth the 35€ as it will take a while to get around the island to Perissa Beach even though it seems very close.
They also have an agreement with some car rental companies in case people are interested. The company brings the car to the hotel! In our case they even let us "checkout" the car at the airport after, and it saved us a trip at the end of our stay! Super friendly.
Now regarding the hotel itself. Location, location, location: A few steps to one of the biggest and best beach of the island. Very close to bus stations shall you need it. Restaurants and bars everywhere. Car park.
Friendliness: Vassilis (I hope I'm writing it correctly) is an incredibly sweet and friendly elderly man. We'll always remember him. There's an obvious language barrier but doesn't stop him from interacting with you anytime you cross paths. He offered us a little bottle of his homemade wine production and it was just amazing! His son was also incredibly helpful and friendly. You can see they put love in this family run business. Please never change.
Rooms: The rooms are very small and, well, not that fake "new", with a wall fitting literally one bed and 2 nightstands and nothing more. That does not mean they're any bad though. The bed is really comfortable, there is a tiny closet with a fridge, some coffee for your breakfast, a big bottle of water, some tea and sugar, with a kettle of course, anything you need for a quick morning coffee on a tiny balcony (not private just for you, but for anyone in the hotel who wants to use it (there are many)) Vassilis reinforced "please enjoy!" The bathroom is small but enough. The shower though, kept fighting a bit with the curtain and the water slowly drains out, which If you're not careful, can flood the bathroom a bit. This is the only small negative point in an otherwise PERFECT stay!
Santorini is extremely expensive, less expensive in Perissa and for the money this is an excelent option to stay a few nights (3 for us). The room may not look much, but it compensates every bit with the rest. When we go back to the island (not if) we'll certainly stay there again and hope to see Vassilis and his...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed here early-mid July and overall it was a very good stay. The location is ace: only a 5-minute walk from the beach and promenade, and very, very quiet. Only a 2-minute walk from the slightly livelier main road with a few bars and restaurants and the bus stop into Fira (bus is cash only, 2.5 euros pp). The manager is amazing, very very kind and accommodating. Beach towels are provided. ||The only caveats are the Wifi is far from great: frustratingly slow at times and especially for videos. The AC is powerful and works well, but at times emits a slight urine smell which is weird. ||We slept well every night, as there is decent enough cover for the windows. Regardless I would bring an eye mask too. ||The shower is small, but functional. Water pressure isn’t great good enough. The only true negative on staying here is the taxi called in our behalf for the return visit to the airport said he had car issues and at some point on the highway, said we should hop out and walk as the airport was only “5 minute away”!! In 90 degree heat in the sun with our luggage 🧳! Thankfully my husband looked at GPS and it was actually a 25 minute walk (5-minute by car), so he refused to get out. And sure enough we were dropped off at the airport using back roads....
