Mythique Villas and Suites — Hotel in Municipality of Thira

It's sadly our last day here, but we just couldn't wait to tell you all about this place and more importantly about the staff.||||We arrived on the 25th of July 2020 for a weeks stay to celebrate our 20th Wedding Anniversary. We booked this trip back in January 2020 so as you can imagine, when COVID-19 struck, we were naturally worried about our stay being cancelled. The communication via email to and from the staff at Mythique Villas & Suites was exceptional and reassuring. They kept in touch during the UK's lockdown period reassuring us that if we had to cancel our trip then do not worry as we can rebook anytime. When restrictions were lifted by the Greek government allowing UK nationals to visit Greece & the surrounding islands, we immediately contacted the Mythique staff to inform them that we could still come. Unfortunately, though, our original flights had been cancelled, so we had to look for an alternative airline provider which meant we would be arriving a day later than scheduled. So we informed Mythique Villas of the changed date of arrival and requested an additional day, so we didn't lose out on our original seven-night stay. Again this was not a problem for Myhique.||||As I previously stated, we arrived on the 25th and was met by our driver arranged by Myhique. A lovely gentleman who was to to be our shared chauffeur for several trips during our stay. ||||Our trip so far had been good. Little did we know that our experience was about to go to another level thanks to a particular member of staff.||||When we arrived at Mythique Villas & Suites, my wife and I were greeted by a lovely young lady called Giota. I can tell you now that when we first met Giota, we looked at her as a member of staff. As we write this review, we now consider Giota as a great friend for life. This young lady alone truly made our 20th-anniversary special. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Her recommendations for restaurants with breathtaking views, delivering great food & service were spot on. ||||Our suite was immaculately clean, spacious, modern with amazing views. Definitely has that wow factor.||||We also wanted to experience a sunset boat trip, just the two of us. Again, Giota was able to make the perfect recommendation. In fact, it was so perfect that I'll be writing another review for santosails.com. The point I must stress though is that this particular boat trip was beyond words and views with a sunset that was seriously out of this world. All thanks to Giota||||Giota, you're an absolute credit to Mythique Villas & Santorini. Your passion and love for the island are so evident. Thank you again for looking after us and making our anniversary so special. ||||I think it's also necessary to point out that if anyone is worried about travelling to Santorini due to the current situation with COVID-19, then please don't be. To my knowledge, at the time of this review, Santorini has no known cases on the island. However, all staff, including those at the Mythique Villas & all the restaurants we visited were spotless & all staff members are wearing face masks or visors. Ample handsantiser at every location. As you would expect, the island is also extremely quiet for this time of year, so in our opinion, this trip in a strange sort of way was the perfect time to visit. We stayed in Villa Estia at the beginning of October and loved every minute of it. ||||The highlights were the breathtaking views of the caldera, the huge private pool, the beautifully decorated villa, the charming walk into Oia (approx 20 mins), Stav - the concierge, and the breakfast served up every morning!||||There are 3 villas in total. All 3 looked great to be honest, but Estia was the most private and had the biggest pool and outside area. All 3 villas here seemed much more private than the one’s located in Oia, as there they’re all built overlooking each other. ||||We mainly had really hot, sunny days; bar one day where it was overcast and really windy. On the sunny days we chilled around the pool, where non-alcoholic cocktails were randomly delivered by the onsite staff. I should mention that you would never that any staff are there at all as they are so discreet. On the overcast day, Stav gave us a private tour of Oia and shown us where to get great photos of the blue domes. ||||Stav also recommended some great restaurants (Pelekanos and 218 were particularly good) and made all our dinner reservations for us - which was really helpful! ||||The only slight issue was that the pool was a little cool, and a heated pool would definitely be an improvement. We still swam in it every day though and I imagine it’s much warmer in the height of summer. The smaller pool next door had the same issue. ||||All in all I couldn’t recommend this place enough. Don’t be put off that it’s not bang in the middle of Oia, this is actually an advantage...

Our family of four stayed in the Villa Estia room in June. Our four nights here represented the final leg of our 2-week journey through Greece (and most definitely the highlight). ||||The room itself is stunning - from our private pool and deck overlooking the mesmerizing Caldera, to the two-story, fun 3-bedroom underground loft. A feast of a 4-course breakfast was served each morning at the time of our choosing right out on our patio, which started each day out perfectly. We felt like kings and queens of Santorini. ||||But as impressive as the accommodations were, the service was somehow even more extraordinary. Stav - our incredible hostess - absolutely gave new meaning to the term 'unexpected quality.' Her dinner recommendations were spot on (do not miss a chance to eat at Lefkes - one of our favorite meals of the trip). She thought nothing of interrupting her own evening plans to make sure that we were enjoying ours - even showing up the first night at the restaurant she'd recommended to make sure we had found it as we insisted on walking the easy 10 min walk into Oia. In short, our beautiful Stav made us feel like we were staying with long lost friends whose top priority was our well-being.||||The location of the Mythique is perfect - within easy walking distance into Oia and right above the walking path from Fira. It was wonderfully quiet and private. I'd prefer not to write this review because we'd rather keep this absolute diamond to ourselves. But alas, it is not...
