Great stay! Enjoyed it and rested so well!
Loved the staff - Penny too!!! She is the only non-asian who bothered to get my name right, and i was surprised she remembered my name and greeted me by my name directly warmly the next few days!
Room was spacious and clean. Decoration was awesome. There were 2 tvs - both smart tvs! Making it really easy for us to entertain ourselves in the room. Bed and pillows were both comfy. Blanket was really cozy. Room had air conditioner and it doubled up as heater, you will just need to switch modes if you felt cold. There was a hot jacuzzi and breakfast was served to the bed room. View from the room was awesome!! Bedroom slippers provided, and 1 bottled water also provided.
Toilet big and clean. There are two areas - 1 with shower head, another was a bit like a bath tub style. Hair dryer was great - strong and powerful, hair gets blown dry quickly.
Don’t worry about carrying heavy luggages up and down the hill and steep stairs. There is a male service staff who is so strong he easily carried 2 x 18kg luggages from our room.
Swimming pool and deck chairs/ beds were really nice! If not because of the cold weather which made the water soooo cold, i would love to take a dip. I lied on the chairs and just view-watched for a while, and it was really very nice and comfy.
Location was ok. We rented a car hence reaching there was not a problem getting to and fro anywhere. The minimarket is a 1-2mins drive away, oia town was around 5-10 mins drive away. Fira was 15-20 mins drive away. All very convenient.
I enjoyed the location because it was not really in the crazy crowded areas hence i really felt at ease, well rested.
Breakfast was served in the room. You get a form on the day you check in for you to select the food you want to eat.
Some areas for consideration though:
There are mosquitoes in the room. The hotel operator gave a anti mosquito thingy that helped abit.
Summer can get very hot in the room. Room is big with only 1 ac at the entrance. Might not be powerful enough to cool the entire room down.
Shower area has no door, taps and shower head water hard to control so as you shower, you might have made the entire toilet wet and messy.
Breakfast selection limited and if you do not go to the reception to make changes, they will serve the same selection...
Read moreThis hotel was perfect - the location is absolutely incredible. A short 10 minute walk from the center of Oia, this hotel felt both secluded and perfectly situated. It's way quieter here than in the main area of Oia, so people aren't constantly watching you in the pool or on your balcony. And the views here are stunning - we would have been content to just sit here all day and just read and relax while enjoying the views. We stayed in the superior suite which was beautiful. The balcony was very nice, the beds very comfortable, and the room nice and large. The bathroom was cool and practical at the same time. The staff at the hotel was so amazing. Elaini (hope I spelled that right) was very courteous and offered us a lot of extras that she didn't have to. She offered us some delicious fresh squeezed orange juice when we arrived and she went out to buy soy milk, which is not generally carried by the hotel, for our coffee in the morning. And she was happy to serve us our breakfast outside of the hotel's timeframe for breakfast which was very nice of her. The hotel let us check in a couple of hours early since our room was ready and they even let us stay 30 minutes late past the checkout time. Arman wouldn't let me carry my bags, he insisted on doing it for me. And Thalia was very friendly and helpful - a light in our room went out and Thalia had it changed in less than 10 minutes. Even after we checked out, we left our bags there for the day and the hotel was happy to let us use their outside WC to shower and change before we left Santorini that night. Just a word of caution - some of the rooms are down some deep stairs so if that's an issue, I'd definitely suggest mentioning it to the hotel when you book to make sure you're not in one of those rooms.Parking on the hotel's property which was very convenient for us as well. And the hotel is located right next to a bus stop so easy connections to the rest of the island. No negatives to say about this place - I would definitely come back here again. It's pricey, but so is all of Oia (and this place is probably cheaper than most similar quality places) and it's completely worth it for the pure sense of luxury that the...
Read moreWe loved our stay at Oia Suites - as you’ll see from the photos, the pool and hotel itself is gorgeous. Clearly recently modernised the views are unparalleled and it really is as peaceful and relaxing as it looks. The other selling point of this hotel for me though is the location - Oia is a beautiful town in Santorini, but it’s always heaving with tourists. Oia suites are a 15-20 min walk from there meaning you easily have access without paying expensive taxi prices and your hotel isn’t on top of others as those in Oia are. |However whilst the staff are lovely and helpful, this hotel isn’t 5 star yet due to some basics. Breakfast in your room is lovely with the view but is so, so basic. You order individual items - and they’re placed on separate plates. So to order a full English it’s a cocktail sausage (not a normal one), piece of bacon, egg. Fresh fruit is 1 banana, apple etc and you never know what fruit you’re getting! The food itself is fine but it’s not a 5 star offering. It doesn’t feel as if it’s served with love - why couldn’t we just order a fried breakfast? In addition there is no pool restaurant or bar, just a limited menu, but it’s very hard getting hold of the only two staff that ever seem to be on at one time - I had to phone to order, and saw other guests doing the same. When the food does come, it’s lovely! |Overall Oia Suites’ staff and location are idyllic and the hotel grounds are lovely, but the 5 star treatment isn’t quite there yet due to lack of staff...
