We booked a last minute stay in their standard room with caldera view. The staff were all lovely from the moment we arrived. We received a tour of the facilities and were offered a welcome drink to enjoy in the restaurant with the view upon arrival. Our bags were brought to our room and everything was ready for us as soon as we came down. The view from our room and balcony, overlooking the pool and caldera, was gorgeous. The included breakfast in the morning was wonderful. It included made to order eggs and omelettes, various pastries & bread, spreads, veggies, meats, cheese, yoghurt, nuts & seeds, fruit, deserts, water, juice, and coffee made to your preference. Although breakfast ends at 11, we were never rushed and got to enjoy it leisurely. The restaurant staff are lovely and always remembered our preferences. The Oia to Fira scenic trail is right outside the pool area so it is very convenient to get around by foot. It’s approx a 15 minutes walk to Oia. We also did the hike to Imerovigli one evening for dinner and walked back for sunset. It was stunning. I believe there is also a bus that does pickups/dropoffs just outside the hotel and it is very affordable, however we didn’t use it as we were comfortable walking for our stay. Hotel management was incredibly accommodating, and sorted out an extension of our stay in our room for the same price, despite our room technically no longer being available online and prices having significantly increased. We really appreciate them going the extra mile to move things around for us. They also allowed us to check out late so we could enjoy breakfast and pack after our morning photoshoot. They stored our bags for us so we could enjoy the pool after checkout, and provided shower facilities so we could be fresh for our flight. Lastly, they organized an airport shuttle for us as well. Thank you, thank you, thank you to the lovely staff for facilitating such a lovely stay for us while in Santorini. It has been the perfect...
Read moreUnfortunately, except for the very nice staff and good breakfasts, we did not like this hotel at all! We had chosen this hotel according to its reviews on social media and also by looking at pictures on the hotel’s website. This is definitely a case where the pictures were nicer than reality.
Looking at the pictures, we thought we were getting a real cave hotel on a cliff. There was an arch in our room, but it definitely was not a cave hotel on a cliff! We really felt trapped in our room. Again, looking at the pictures, we thought the door was a glass door, but it wasn't. It was a wooden door without any windows and when the door was closed, it was very dark. The bathroom was extremely tiny. You had to shut the door to get to the toilet and even then, there was hardly any room to move. The ceiling was extremely low where the bed was. My husband could not stand up straight without touching his head on the ceiling! And because the bed was on the 2nd floor, the AC didn't reach us. It was extremely cold downstairs, and extremely hot upstairs.
Mr. And Mrs. White hotel is a little rundown too. It is obvious that it could use some maintenance and upgrades. This is definitely not a 5-star hotel!
And not that it was that far from Oia, but you had to walk 15 minutes on a dirt unlit pathway to get to town!
On our way to town, we did see some much better cave hotels right on the cliff. We will definitely not be recommending Mr. And Mrs. White...
Read moreMr and Mrs White in Santorini is fantastic, the views of the caldera are breathtaking and the location is perfect.
Set about a 15/20 minute walk just outside the beautiful Oia, it is close enough to be part of the action but far enough away to be peaceful and away from the hoards of tourists who visit daily. There is a footpath which takes you directly into Oia too which is along the coast. The footpath also goes to Fira the other way, the walk from Oia to Fira is 10km along the coastal footpath and you’ll need good shoes/trainers to do it, sandals won’t cut it! It’s hilly too so go on a cool breezy day.
The hotel is small and the staff and friendly and did everything they could to ensure our stay was brilliant. The rooms are lovely and were cleaned every day. They had their own line of luxury toiletries, and a fridge with a mini bar; bottled water was included.
Towels for round the pool also included.
The breakfast was the same every day but you can have coffees, teas, pastries, cereals, yogurts, fruits etc and also eggs any way you like and bacon too.
The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner too and the food is excellent.
We really enjoyed our stay at Mr and Mrs White and couldn’t recommend it enough! Thank you for making our...
