Noelia Suites — Hotel in Municipality of Thira

Can't recommend Noelia Suites enough!! First, the host, Elene is awesome. She was so helpful I'm organizing us a taxi from the airport even when we had a really late flight in. She also helped us book breakfast for the next day and gave the BEST restaurant recommendations (you can't beat the ones she mentions in Finikia!). Second, the location is exceptional. You're just outside of Oia, which means you can get to anything easily (about a 10 minute walk to Oia and under 5 minutes to the bus stop), but you're far enough outside the town to feel like you're in a private space and all the cruise ship tourists aren't breathing down your neck. Finikia, as mentioned, had some amazing restaurants (just a 2 minute walk downhill!) so we didn't even bother with the Oia crowds for lunches and dinner most days. Third and finally, the rooms are amazing. Our room had the rooftop hot tub which was so cool. The absolute best spot to watch the sunset in total privacy! On top of that, the rooms are so clean and well appointed. Elene made sure we had everything we needed, from coffee and tea to sugar, bottled water, and even wine! Rain shower is amazing, bed was so comfy, and the AC made it so we weren't sticky even though the weather was pretty nice. A perfect retreat – highly recommended!

This accommodation is a true hidden gem! Secluded and set in a beautiful location, it offers the perfect environment for relaxation. The hot tub is an absolute highlight – clean, well-maintained, and perfect for unwinding after a busy day. The entire property was spotless, which made for an especially pleasant stay. The complex consists of two independent apartments, separated by a wall, ensuring privacy.

The standout feature, however, was the host, Elena. She was incredibly attentive, always quick to respond to messages, and regularly checked in to ensure everything was to our satisfaction. In our room, we found a carefully curated book with numerous tips for the surrounding area, which was incredibly helpful during our stay. The restaurant recommendations, in particular, were fantastic – every place we tried was a hit!

A special highlight is that it’s just a short walk from Oia, as finding parking in Oia is a nightmare.

My partner and I stayed for 5 nights in August 2022 and could not fault the accommodation. Spotlessly clean and beautiful decor, tastefully arranged. The outside area was cleaned every day and had a fantastic view of the sunset in Oia. The bed was comfortable and bedroom cosy with a lovely light feature looking up through the old cave to ground level. The shower was lovely - again spotlessly clean.

Elena is a wonderful, and attentive host. She helped to arrange a transfer from the airport, recommended wonderful activities, helped with restaurant bookings, car hire and was also a lovely person, great to talk to about the real Santorini.

The cave is in a great location, away from the (sometimes very busy) centre of Oia - a 10 minute walk. It has a nearby shop for food etc and in the other direction are some super restaurants.

Oia gets busy at dusk as everyone heads there to see the the sunset - but you can see the sunset beautifully from the hot tub with a glass of wine! A real bonus!
