I gave 4 stars not 5 on booking.com and the owner Martha wrote to ask why I’d given a low score. I said this in reply to which she said ‘that is your opinion …’ so I don’t think she appreciated my efforts to help her make some small improvements. There is a sense of being stuck in their ways. But I shall copy and paste my response to her and hope it helps: ||||Dear Martha. I didn’t leave a low score. I said ‘very good’ but I’m going to try and explain my opinion as to why I didn’t say ‘excellent” and hope it helps. You are both such lovely people, warm and friendly. What could have been a better start for us was not getting lost. Our Sat nav directions could not find you. Perhaps you could provide guests with good directions or suggest they call you if they get lost. (Maybe it was just us but my husband doesn’t normally struggle with directions). Also, what other places in Greece we’ve stayed in provide are really nice pillows, big televisions, quiet air con, and Zealots toiletries (shampoo, conditioner and body lotion). Lastly, it would be good to provide more information about Akrotiri ancient town site. It’s amazing. Also the various beaches. We were interested in Remezzo but you hadn’t heard of it. We went to The Edfge twice (excellent), Theros Wave Bar and The Seaside. All really good. Maybe you can expand the information you give guests. I have taken time on my holiday to write back to you because I know you are disappointed with my review but I can assure you we had a lovely time and felt very well looked after by your. And I wish to help and explain....
Read moreLefteres and Martha went above and beyond what I have experienced from hosts in my travels, and we travel a good amount. We were two sisters in our 50's traveling together and we felt like royalty at this place. ||Lefteres picked us up from the ferry dock and drove us about 15 minutes to our rooms. We met Martha, who brought us a tasty snack of home made pastry and showed us all around our lodging. She made us dinner reservations at an amazing restaurant overlooking the water and sunset. Lefteres drove us to the restaurant, suggested we go down to the lighthouse for the sunset, and then came and picked us back up when we called him. (This was at no extra cost!) ||The breakfast was top notch. The orange juice was fresh squeezed! Everything was fresh and tasty and was delivered to our outdoor dinning table at the time we requested. ||I loved staying at this end of the island because it was so quiet and surrounded by a beautiful typical neighborhood that gave us a taste of Greek life. The view is amazing. The bus is within a 10 minute walk and took us to Oia and Thera. ||To top it all off, I left my hat behind and Lefteres delivered it to our next lodging in Kamari!!! Way beyond hospitality, this was a...
Read moreThere are not enough words to describe the greatness of this place. First, they kindly provide transportation for you if you are coming from the port in Santorini, which is extremely helpful considering that taxis are sparse here. Next, the rooms are spacious and clean, with plenty of room for families to comfortably stay here. Breakfast is fresh and delicious, and what more can you ask for than to have breakfast on the patio with a breathtaking view of the city and the sea? This villa is in close proximity to many sites, such as Red Beach and the Akrotiri Excavation, as well as within a decent driving distance to the other main cities. Despite these wonderful things that this place has to offer, the most impressive feat that they possess is the genuine kindness and attentiveness that the staff and the owner, Martha, have. They are always ready and willing to help you with directions, transportation, accommodations, tours, and anything else that you may need. They are wonderful people, who not only made our trip worthwhile, but left us in awe and craving to return. So, if you are looking to stay in Santorini, there is no need to look any further. Pancratium Villas and Suites is the only place...
