Melathron Rooms and Apartments Thassos — Hotel in Thassos Municipality

Let me start the review by saying the good things first. The rooms are kept clean and cleaned almost everyday. However, the hygienist kept on moving our toiletries around, which is kind of odd. The location is close to the beach and the garden of the house is beautiful. We were staying with another couple and they paid cash, we wanted to pay by card, which was refused. The owners explain in another review by the girl from the couple we were staying with saying the POS had technical difficulties which is absolutely not true because it was working when we went around the front desk and they could have told us then even if it did have technical problem which they did not do. Also, they only wanted one Identity Card from each room. Why would you want only one and not both(mind you we were two couples). Then they didn't give us back my boyfriend's ID card until the payment went through (they told us we could only pay by bank payment so it takes two days to get to them since we are from a foreign country) plus they never told us e-bank was a possible option at all. All this leads. one to believe they don't want you to pay by card because they want to hide something, I will not say more. What other reason is there to only want one card from a room, to insist that the money be transferred to their account, even though there is a working POS? Also it is absolutely illegal to hold onto an ID card of one of your guests. I have never experienced or heard of something like that happening, not to mention the hosts are saying that some places even keep your credit card? Their reply to our other review is and I quote: "No hotel returns the card immediately, while others kept your card or credit card until your departure as security. We didn't do that." That is absolute nonsense. Every hotel in every country we've been at returns your ID card immediately after check in, because as I've said it is illegal to hold an official document of a person! I recently had the pleasure of staying at Melathron Rooms And Apartments in Golden Beach, Thassos, and I must say that the experience exceeded all my expectations. The conditions were superb, and the outdoor terrace was very clean, useful, and a great place to relax. Equally enjoyable was the spacious balconies, which provided ample room to unwind.

The cleanliness of the property was exceptional, with the bed linens being changed twice during our six-night stay. This attention to detail made our stay all the more comfortable. Furthermore, the hosts demonstrated outstanding support, availability, and empathy when a member of our group faced some health issues, showing true care and hospitality.

The room came equipped with a functioning air conditioner, a small television, and a spacious wardrobe that comfortably accommodated all of our luggage. The kitchenette inside the room was handy, the one on the terrace was equally useful for preparing simple meals.

There are some things in this hotel which were very unpleasant. When we arrived the hosts asked us for our ID's. After one hour, I wanted my ID back, but they said "tomorrow, tomorrow". For me it's not okay to give my identical card to someone for more than 24 hours in foreign country! Plus it's ILLEGAL! This is my first time my ID has been kept and not given back immediately after check in. My friends wanted to pay with card, but the hosts said only cash. At the same time they had POS in the reception room. The hosts kept the ID of my friend for 2 days! Secondly, I asked the hosts if the rooms have mosquito nets for windows and the answer was "No mosquitos, no problem, the rooms don't have mosquito nets".
