June 2017 This is old school Greece! Not touristy or loud n mad. If u want tranquility and beautiful views make sure u visit. The beach here is amazing! The mountains complete the beautiful area. The hotel is modern. Renovated in the last 2 years. We originally had a room which was ok for 2 people but small for 3 of us. (We had our 16yr old with us) bathroom was small with shower, no bath. Quite a small area with only floor space in shower for toiletries. Air con was above patio door which blew straight onto bed. Third bed was a sofabed. Not comfortable so daughter says. Small wardrobe for 3 people. Had to leave cases on balcony as no room in room. We could barely move, so next morning we upgraded to a suite. Matina on reception was so helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Sunny and bubbly and always smiling. Turns out there are 71 rooms here. Suite was much better. Larger bathroom, more space for toiletries and 2 sleeping areas with a sliding door between the 2 areas. More wardrobe space and air con in both rooms. The balcony was huge. Beds really comfortable. Restaurant was well organised with 3 meals u could order. Different every night. Then the standard all inclusive fare, ie pasta, rice, salad, chips, bread, cheese. If u have fussy eaters don't worry u can always ask Nikolos the maitre de. He is always happy to help. Food was always fresh and tasty. Round the pool u have entertainment by Kamil who is always trying to get someone to play darts or ping pong or water polo. Everyone had a great time with him. The kids love him. There is a small gym which had about 6 pieces of equipment in. No sauna, steam room or spa. Whilst we were here it was probably 40% British. Which made it a really nice mix of Russian, French and German. No fights to get sunbeds in morning either. The pool bar has small sandwich like snacks if u get hungry when main restaurant is closed. Most drinks are included in the all inclusive package. And there is a sign at bar with what's not included. Ice cream is available at the pool bar. WiFi was good enough for whatsapp and Facebook. But daughter moaned about it not being fast enough for Netflix! Big deal eh! 😂 I managed to download several audio books with no problems. Water in rooms was always hot so no complaints there. All the staff are wonderful from the waiters to the cleaners. So friendly and smiley. People u can have a good laugh with. It was a great holiday and we would definitely...
Read moreWe decided for this hotel last minute and it was the best decision we could have made. The surroundings are absolutely incredible with lush green mountains you can constantly admire from your balcony or the beach. We stayed for a week and we still kept stopping and just enjoyed the view.||||The hotel itself is clean and modern with available wifi that has great connection pretty much everywhere. They take the situation around covid very seriously - the staff wears masks, gloves, and before you eat, they disinfect the table and use a disposable tablecloth. Disinfectant for hands is available as well. The hotel room has a safe-deposit and AC and the only thing i would change is the bathroom separated only by an opaque glass. But that's something i knew about when choosing this hotel.||||Breakfast starts at 7:30, lunch at 13:30 and dinner at 19:30. In 2020 you say (or point) to what you want and the staff puts it onto your plate. The food is delicious, there's always plenty to choose from without having to eat the same thing twice and the desserts are great. The pool bar offers several drinks like mojito or tequila sunrise and ice cream flavors included in the AI package. And they do NOT skimp on the alcohol. I had to ask for less otherwise i would be smashed after one drink.||||The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly, i don't know if it's because the hotel was half empty but i've never experienced staff that takes care of you like this. (Thank you for the advice about yoghurt and letting me take it to my room and marinate in it for hours! My burnt skin thanks you.) ||||The golden beach is about 2 minutes from the hotel with various bars and water activities. You can snorkel at the edges of it, otherwise the sea is just full of fine sand without much to see. The beach has the same fine sand and is clean in most places but you can find cigarette butts and other stuff inconsiderate people leave behind just like everywhere else. The water is clean with a beautiful turquoise color.||||I highly recommend this hotel and i think the stay there was the best holiday i've ever had. This year especially is special with so few people - a sunbed is always ready for you at the pool and there are no lines anywhere at the hotel or the entire island for...
Read moreWe re young family from Slovakia, staying now at Princess Golden Beach hotel. I would first point it out, that this is small "family" hotel, different from the typical big resorts as we where staying before. Small, but nice, really friendly and hadrworking staff, helpfull. I completely doesnt understand those reviews who are complaining about food?! If you prefer freshness abs quality food, you re on the right place here!!!! Tasty, delicious, varoius choice at lunch and dinner! They are doing here excellent job here!I absolutely love it and also my kids do . Breakfeast could be more variable, but you will choose for sure (mostly every day the same) All inclusive servise is a little bit limited, for example ice cream for kids, avaliable only from lunch to dinner, before and after your have to pay for it Choise of All inclusive between main dishes is pure - just a few cookies.. This hotel is located a few steps from the beach (you have to cross throught the Road - but there is not so much traffic there) Right behind hotel is supermarket and two car rentals. I would say the Golden beach area is not so rush,in the evenings empty, just few bars and restuarants open. About 30 minutes walk is nice promenade with different shops, bars. I would Also point it out, this hotel is not do small kids. No children pool, minimum height in the pool is about one meter,Also in the evenings no actions for kids,no miniclub. Only one playground outside, but we didnt visited it yet, nothing special 🙈 Rooms ste modern,we have with big terrasse with sea view ❤️, it could be bigger,we are missing place to store the personal clothes. To sum it up,I would recommend this hotel.I am in love with Thassos,we have visited incredible Saliara beach and also few other ones. I recommend to hire a car. Thanks to all Princess Golden beach employees, who are doing their job with love and...
