We came here with high expectations for exceptional food, different and inspired.
TOO MUCH CHOICE (incoherent): We browsed the menu and noticed the place caters to tourists and does not have a “personality”. It has everything on offer, from ceviche to caprese, pasta to burger as well as all the basic taverna dishes. We understand it is a very competitive area so spent 10’ trying to choose dishes for a meaningful order.
STAFF: chatty but not always welcoming or welcome. They made a couple of comments in Greek to us regarding foreign tourists (not polite at all…) and over-shared information around internet and various running costs and challenges. The issue here is that it was entirely unprompted.
FOOD: ok. different recipes, at least on paper but nothing mind-blowing taste wise. That was disappointing, we were truly expecting more for all this fuss. The initial bread was very tasty (grilled), the refill was not.
MELON (served as light dessert on the house): three small pieces (bite-sized) prepared hours in advance and stored in the fridge. The melon had absorbed smells from other food in there. Refreshing whatsoever and a nice touch, but can be improved.
DECOR & AMBIENCE: basic, cheap choices, poor style if you look closer to the table (salt and pepper, break basket, oil & vinegar etc), furniture and ornaments all around. We could see inside the kitchen (none of the staff wore masks and were occasionally enjoying a coffee - which is totally fine but not on show perhaps).

Read moreUpdate (after 3 years): I’ve been dreaming to come back here to eat here. So we came back to this island to eat at Nisi every day of our holidays. You can try literally everything and it will be amazing. But I surely recommend fish. The freshest fish! I’m always afraid to eat mussels, but here you will find the best mussels (grown between sweet and salty water: the best). The sea-bass carpaccio was out of this world. We ate every day fried calamari, because they are still the best. The sea-bass is amazing. I can go on and on. But you have to trust a gourmand and go to eat like a king here. 😂 Thank you all for the best food! This is the best restaurant I’ve ever tried! But also the service and the atmosphere are excellent. I don’t have new photos because I was too busy eating.

Read moreNot reliable. Better not to waste time going there, you might be refused service for no reason. Update due to the answer of the owner: first of all we were 4, not six. The review is for the service and the way you comunicate and treat clients. Restaurants are not only about food, that s why even Google reviews gives you the chance to review the food, the service or the atmosphere. I only reviewed the service did not rate or say anything about the food. No matter why reason your staff would refuse to serve a costumer this should be politely explained (this is why you get a one star review) for the way you comunicate with your clients. One sentence saying we are sorry but our chef is overwhelmed or whatever reason besides answering with a blank no would have been normal. This just demonstrates actually that you don t even consider yourself a restaurant but just a kitchen. No need to think twice over my review. Thx for the passive aggressive answer just confirms the bad way you choose...
