Pothos Hotel — Hotel in Zakynthos Municipality

Arrived and was greeted by an older Greek lady with little English. My friend had stayed before so knew the ins and out. |FACILITIES - We paid €10 per day for aircon which was a must. Didn’t use the pool we went to the beach ten mins walk away. |Bar is run by Helen, lovely lady very welcoming. The bar does great food that I saw but on last day we did eat there before our transfer and it’s reasonable and very nice too. |ROOMS- typical basic room but it was clean, a bit tired but it’s a 2* so you get what you pay for. The shower was amazing so powerful, would be helpful if they provided a tea towel, dish cloth and some washing up liquid and invested in some new bath mats for the bathroom floor. |BEACH- ten mins walk away via the salt flats it was amazing €15 euros for two loungers and a parasol. We used beds at Moby Dicks and ate and drank there. The service is amazing there, food gorgeous and their cocktails were good too. Wasps were a pain at times. |ALYKES- a great place to drink and eat. Very chilled and very safe. A few stray dogs and cats knocking about but very friendly. We took the horse and carriage to the next resort cost us €20 euros that was a good experience. |I found the resort very friendly and...

Another lovely stay at Pothos. We booked directly with Helen rather than through Jet2 and had the family apartment with two rooms which is nice and spacious. We payed the extra on arrival for Aircon which is needed. Pool and pool bar are lovely, incredibly clean with plenty of sunbeds and great food served up at lunchtime. The hotel is a 10 min walk over the salt flats to the main strip which has lovely restaurants and a few bars. There is a mini mart a few mins away from the hotel also. This was our second visit and it was just as great and relaxing as the 1st.||Recommendations| Fidelio is our favourite restaurant (Beef Stamnas amazing)|Bucca - best desert place - amazing ice creams and waffles. |Asteria, great food and on beach front|Apollo|Piccadilly (worth the slightly longer wait times) |Pitta Break for Giros €4!|Spikeys Bar (drinks, pool table, football)|Iris bar (drinks and crazy golf)|Get up early for sunrise on Alykes beach (6:30/7) and then walk to Alykannas harbour to see the turtles hanging around any boats with fishermen on waiting for...

What an amazing stay we had here! Helen is the most amazing hostess and nothing was ever too much trouble for her, I loved the fact it was family run too and Helen’s son Alex was always around to play with my daughter which she loved! My 18 month old absolutely loved it, she asked for Helen and Alex every morning 😂 Every one we met there was super friendly and it was so lovely and kid friendly! Loved the floats and toys in the pool too that kept my little one busy all day long! The food and drinks in the bar and restaurant was so good also! The location is great and the rooms were cleaned regularly! I was a bit sceptical about booking but so glad we did . I think I preferred this place to some of the 5 star hotels we stayed in and that was down to the most amazing friendly staff and people ! We will definitely be returning! Thank you we miss...
