Great Stay at The Panorama Alykes My husband and I arrived at the Panorama at the end of June 2022 fora 9 night stay. We were warmly welcomed by Mavra by our names even though we had not visited the Panorama before. We organised the hotel tax and the Aircon before being shown to our room. We were given room 5 which is on the ground floor overlooking the pool (all rooms overlook the pool) There are about 40 rooms in total. The room was spotless, it was very clean. We had a double bed and there was a single sofa bed in the room . There was a bath with a shower in the bathroom and we had a small kitchen area, which included a 2 ring hob and an under the counter fridge. There was also a kettle, plates, cups, dishes and cutlery available to use. We had a terrace with a table and chairs, there was a clothes airer that we could hang any clothing or towels. The aircon worked well and kept the room cold, but our room did not get a lot of sun on it, so once the room was cool it did stay comfortably cool. There was a TV in the room but this only had a few channels to watch, which is usual in Greece. The bed was firm but very comfy we slept really well. We wanted an extra pillow as there were only 3 in the room. The extra pillow arrived very quickly after our request. We were also able to get onto the wifi in our room, and it worked well. We were able to steam a movie. It did sometimes slow down and this was usually in the evenings before everyone started heading out for the night. The light above the mirror had gone out, so we mentioned it to Mavra, and a very short time later it was fixed. The Panorama has a lovely pool area, with lots of sunbeds with thick matresses on them. There was no need to rush to the pool as there were always spare sunbeds throughout the day. It was very relaxed around the pool, and we were happy that there was no piped loud music. There is small childrens section to the pool and also a small childrens play area. The bar sold drinks and food all day, at a very reasonable price. The food we ate there during the day and evening was some of the best we ate in Alykes. We were Bed & Breakfast and breakfast is served in the bar. The breakfast is cooked to order, and there is a good choice, from cereal to a full cooked English. Again we found the breakfast to be fantastic…my husband was happy because when he had a cooked breakfast there was HP brown sauce. There was a bingo night which we didn’t take part in, and there was the magnificent Greek night that followed a BBQ meal. This was a great night and well worth attending. The hotel is by the Salt Flats and it is a few minutes walk to the nearest supermarket and tavernas, with the main stretch of Alykes and the rest of the Tavernas and shops about a 10/15 minute walk away. The hotel is set in very peaceful and quiet location, and is a very relaxing place to visit. We got a very warm welcome from Mavra, Nikki, Dennis and all of their staff, we could not have asked for more. It was a pleasure to stay at...
Read moreArrived at the Panorama just after midday. Was checked in and taken to the room. Lots of stairs so if you have mobility problems then ask for ground floor when booking. Paid for tourist tax which was only €14 for 1 week and also paid for aircon which I think was around €10 per night. Room was a studio for 3. Little kitchenette with 2 ring hob, kettle, fridge and sink etc everything you could need. We didn’t use any of it as we ate out. |Sofa bed for our son, double bed and plenty of drawers/cupboard space. Bathroom was basic with the tiniest shower cubicle. This was the only thing we didn’t like but it was powerful at least. Other guests said they had bath with shower over so would request one of those rooms when we come back again. |Pool area lovely, always cleaned every morning. Opens at 8.30am so cannot put towels down until then. The sunnier side gets taken with towels so if you want early sun get down at 8.30. There would always be a sunbed during the day as people would go off to beach etc. Met some really lovely families during our stay, the kids would play together and always be someone around to have a nice chat with. We became a bit like a big family, keeping eye on kids, sharing inflatables etc. lt was perfect for our 10 yr old son who’s an only child who made friends on day 1. ||Food was good, breakfast plenty of choice and we always enjoyed the food. Staff happy to do anything for you and always welcome you with a smile and get to know you during the stay. Mavra, Niki and family all so genuine and lovely and run a tight ship. We had a leaky aircon on first day and Mavra got it sorted for us straight away. We had no other issues during our stay but if we had we know they would have sorted it. The evening chef think her name was Melpo was such a hard worker, always non stop, we took a shine to her and wanted her to know how much we appreciated her hard work! ||Entertainment a few nights during the week, we were gutted that Greek night was cancelled due to the festival but hopefully get to experience it next time we come. Bingo and quiz night all good fun! ||Alykes is such a beautiful place, clear and shallow sea, glorious mountains as a backdrop and salt flats are interesting to walk through. 5 mins walk to shops, bars and restaurants. So many to choose from! We walked to Alykanas along the river/canal and went along to the harbour and saw turtles being fed by fisherman. We then walked back to Alykes along the beach. ||Very windy during the evening which was lovely as very hot during the day and hate being hot when eating out. Got bitten by mosquitoes last two days and quite a few wasps around so bring some antihistamines and cream as even with spray still got bitten. ||We would love to come back to Panorama in a few years time, I felt very sad to leave and will be having holiday blues for the rest of year I’m sure! |Thank you for the...

My sister, and my son and his girlfriend booked direct with the hotel a few weeks ago. If you book direct with the hotel you get the air conditioning, safe and tourist tax included - worth costing out before booking.|The hotel is in a great position. Lovely views, albeit we had a sideways view, from the rooms. 5 minutes walk from a supermarket, 10 minutes across the salt flats to the beach, and into the town.|Our room was on the second floor, the last set of steps was a metal spiral staircase - not for the faint hearted if you aren’t good with heights! We all managed just fine though. We were offered to change rooms after a day, but opted to stay put. |The room was a decent size and adequate for our needs. My husband found the bed very hard, I liked it. Some of the furniture is a little tired, but plenty of storage for your things. Rooms cleaned daily, towels changed every other day. Good air conditioning. The bathroom was fine, shower cubicle tiny - hardly any room to turn around. Again, was adequate for us, and good pressure hot water after a day on the beach.|Small kitchen space with kettle, fridge and plug in two ring hob.|We needed some more pillows, and they were delivered promptly after I requested them. |We also had an issue where my daughter had left something on the transfer coach. This was quickly sorted between Mavra, Niki and the Jet2 rep. Very helpful, caring and efficient. |We only spent one afternoon around the pool. It was cleaned thoroughly though every day. No sunbed rush as such, but some towels laid down as soon as it opened at 8.30, especially on the beds in the sun. We spent our days on the beach so no problem for us. |The gardens are lovely, with beautiful flowers. There is a small children’s play area - which my grandson loved. |The Greek night was really good fun and good value. I did notice there was a sign saying last one this week, so maybe that is done for the season. |Breakfast was good and plentiful. We didn’t have lunch there, but the menu looked decent and food served until 7pm I believe. |If you are looking for 5 star luxury, this is not the place for you. We loved its family-run charm, and can see why people return year after year. My husband and I will be returning next...
