I first stayed at Quinta in 2007. On three or four subsequent visits to Antigua, I tried to get a room and it was always fully booked. This year, I tried for May, got shut out again, and switched to June so that I could stay here. So, you can see that I am quite fond of this place.||After 18 years, all the good things are still in place: the beautiful gardens, the serene pool, the breakfasts, the peaceful ambience. And there are improvements. There are now "garden rooms" that are away from the main area of the hotel. They are large with king beds and well worth the $115 per night. Internet service reaches these rooms, but I did find myself occasionally using my phone as a hot spot to get better service.||Because the grounds are so spread out, you will at times feel like you have the place to yourself. Sit back and listen to the birds. If you'd like a treat, pick up the phone and they'll bring you tostadas and a drink.||Do be aware that Quinta is on the southeast end of town, about a 15 minute walk to the park. The grounds are truly exceptional: amazing gardens, landscaping and fountains; beautiful pool (and even a little play area!); and lots of places to sit outside and enjoy the incredible volcano views and sunsets. We loved our room and having two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a small kitchen, and we enjoyed our breakfast as well (especially by the little fire on a chilly morning). This is not meant to be a full-service resort -- they will help with taxis and airport transfers, but don't expect an on-site spa or room service. But it's a quiet, beautiful complex that we would highly recommend as a home base for anyone looking to spend a few days exploring in and...

Beautiful hotel and garden is stunning and the variety of birds in the morning you can hear. Pool looked very inviting! The fountains take you back hundreds of years. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner here and always with a lit fireplace for the cool mornings and evenings. The restaurant staff were very pleasant and attentive and made us feel welcomed. Easy walk to close by restaurants and Central Park and several churches and convents. We would definitely stay here here...
