Read moreI’m editing this review the day after I wrote the one below: my gf came down with food poisoning in the middle of the night. She had the felafel. I now know after looking at other reviews it seems this is somewhat common here. I don’t know what else to say except do not eat here. If you do, you’ve been warned and do so at your own risk.
Was very excited to try this place since I had heard good things from people I know from Antigua. Also the reviews give it almost 5 stars with almost 1,000 reviews. All that being said we were disappointed. The sweet potato fries were okay, served with three different sauces that were all okay. I got the Kare, it was something that could have easily made at home. Veggies, rice and chicken with some kind of sauce, didn’t seem like a curry I’ve had before. My gf got the falafel. Which she did like. The spring roll is not a spring roll. I don’t understand putting it on the menu as such. It’s a strange empanada, at best. The place itself is nice and the AC keeps the back cool. Our waitress was nice at first but for some reason got more rude as the meal went on. Prices are fair, it’s a lot of mediocre food on the plate. I wouldn’t return to be honest. Would only recommend to vegetarians looking for a place to eat in Antigua bc there are a number of...
Read moreNot impressed with the pita falafel. The hummus was dry, the falafel too big for the wrap, and the sandwich wasn’t organized properly; all the salad was at the bottom, and all the hummus dumped on top. A pita is meant to be mixed so you get falafel, salad, and hummus in every bite. Part of the problem is that the falafel patties are too big for the wrap, which is great because it’s filling. But you can just as easily make them smaller and put more of them in the pita (the way it’s done all over the world). The garlic sauce was the best part of the meal for me. TONS of signs all over the restaurant and even multiple places on the bill telling you to tip. How about you pay your workers a decent salary instead of pressuring the customers to tip?
Edit: thanks for explaining how capitalism works, now only if you put as much thought into the critique of your food. I don’t care where you took your employees. Improve...
