For the price, it's worth it. I had some pretty chill roommates in the dorms. Bunks okay, but squeak a lot. They will kick you out of your dorm before 11am. There is nowhere to lock up your bag. If you are concerned about that, check your expectations. There are tiny lockers available to put your passport and such; I did not use them. The door does not lock to your room as well. You will not get a key. The bathrooms are outside for the dorms, there are 3 toilets and 3 showers. Breakfast is upstairs and the weirdest experience I have ever had in Guatemala so far. You just sit down upstairs in the kitchen and they will come to you with a menu. They will shame or ignore you if you go up to them and ask about breakfast. The lady making food will come to you in order of when you sit down. She will ask if you want one of the 2 options available. The breakfast is included if you have a room if you have a dorm, it is 25Q which you pay at reception. They give you a small receipt to give to the lady upstairs in the shared kitchen. It is kind of loud at this hostel even on weekdays. You are located right above several businesses and a bar. I liked the atmosphere, lots of hammocks to hang out on and a rooftop view and the kitchen is perched way up high as well with a gas stove. Don't expect to make your own breakfast in the morning because they will be making breakfast in the kitchen until like 1030am. Get there before 730am if you want to make your own food yourself. There were several mold spots on the ceiling in the dorm room B. It appears they only clean the bathrooms once a day in the morning and it smells like bleach. I couldn't get internet upstairs in the kitchen.

Pro’s: Beautiful view over the lake, the room was clean and had sufficient space (we stayed in the suite on the top floor). Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast was ok regarding value for money. Con’s: The hotel can not really do something about this, but there is a bar across the street (Sublime) which plays extremely loud music and has awful bands playing the whole night. They are supposed to lower the music around 11 pm, but they don’t. After 1:00 am it finally got a little more quiet, but at 4:30 they started playing very loud rock music again. We left 1 day early because you just aren’t able to sleep in this hotel due to the bar and screaming of drunk tourists on the street. The owner responded very well to our complaints, we did not have to pay for the night we left earlier, and he admitted that they are suffering because of the owner of the bar not complying with the rules. Apparently, hotel amigos calls the police almost every night because of noise disturbance. So it’s kind of sad for hotel amigos to be taking the blame, but I therefore would not recommend to stay here if you prefer a good night rest. If you’re into partying all night then this might be the hotel for you. Regarding the room: the bed was really small and soft, if one person moves the other person practically bounces off the bed. There is no adequate lock on the door, which made us feel a bit anxious to leave our valuable belongings in the room. Breakfast is ok but a relatively small portion and limited options (omelette or typical breakfast with beans and rice). Also, there is no elevator so we had to carry our luggage all the way to the fifth floor.

Come here without high luxurious expectations and you will most likely be delighted. The hotel has a central location in the middle of the main tourist street of San Pedro, near many restaurants, tours etc. The room I was assigned (room #7) has some issues. 1) There are no curtains on the outside windows and you can see straight in the room after dark. You also get tons of light right at sunrise time. 2) The shower I am happy to report does have hot water if you let it run for 2 minutes. But, it is very trickily type and not good pressure at all. 3) The floor has 4 rooms but only 3 hammocks due to the layout of the floor. This is the only room that does not have a hammock directly in front of it, so when you use a hammock you feel like you are using someone’s else’s hammock. 4) The WiFi is EXTREMELY slow in this room and on this floor. It has nothing to do with location, because the coffee shop 30 seconds walk away has lightening fast WiFi. 5) The breakfast here is very very limited to only two options, which happen to be nearly identical. I do wish there was some more variety or you can quickly get bored of it. It does have some nice benefits: 1) The location is amazing! 2) The girl at the front desk was super friendly and easy to work with. They also have a WhatsApp option if you want to ask questions without coming to front desk. Overall it was OK for the price paid - though IMO too expensive still for all the cons - and I would look elsewhere.

The most stressful parts of my stay revolved around this hostel. I booked through a third party website but had reached out to the hostel to ask a few questions. They then contacted me through whatsapp to demand an extra deposit, even though I had already paid one through the third party site. They told me they would not hold my booking without the extra deposit. I paid it and got a confirmation text from the owner. A few days after my arrival i went to the reception desk to ask to pay for the second half to make sure they didn't pull any last minute tricks just to be told they never received the paypal deposit. I showed them the charge coming off my card, the paypal confirmation, the notification saying that the payment was accepted, as well as a text from the owner saying accepted. I also called paypal and confirmed that they payment had been processed. They gave me a refund only after i told them i was tired of going back and forth and that the issue needed to be resolved in 24 hours. i contacted paypal and in order for the hotel to process the refund they would have had to had already received the payment, proving they lied. This added days of stress, a trip to the atm, conversion fees, as well as withdrawal fees. There were also multiple days i walked past the reception to overhear multiple of the same conversations. "You didn't pay" and "we never got the money".I also contacted the hotel to arrange transportation. Don't bother. I arrived 5 hours later than expected. Every time i would ask for a time estimate it would be another random time. As a young woman traveling alone it was a bit scary. Also, when i contacted the hotel about this they were unaware of the driver they had set me up with. The view from the private suits have an incredible view and are clean. Location is nice. The bars in the surrounding area are loud but i didn't find it as bothersome as other people in the reviews did. the rooms had small white bugs everywhere including the beds.I can't say for the dorms though. The view is amazing but its the same view from anywhere in san pedro. The hotel is untrustworthy and will having you stress your whole vacation since they like to drag out their scam. Id warn everyone to save your money, save your stress, and save your time and pick literally...
