Absolutely aesthetically pleasing, with the best service in all of Budapest. Reception was extremely helpful, social and had an extremely high level of augmented English comprehension. I had several guests in absolute awe, many of whom were Hungarian themselves, utterly surprised by the quality of the hotel. Best breakfast service I ever had! Located close to the House of Terror museum as well. The general area of Oktogon has some issues that are present in all of Budapest and major cities, but even late at night, I felt safe, secure and the hotel was constantly a topic of conversation.

As a veteraned solo traveler of Europe, this place is ideal if you are interested in being close to Budapest's best landmarks. Very multi cultural as well. Many English speakers, Russian speakers, German speakers, etc.

My bags were delayed and the hotel reception went through a great effort to help get my bags delivered from the airport when they did arrive. Never had a hotel go through so much effort on my behalf anywhere.

My room had a complimentary wine which was fantastic and every room seemingly has a very modern and large smart TV.

The rooms are kind of small, but the amenities are top notch and frankly, the co-working spaces, the lounge and everywhere else is the best Budapest can offer. I agonized over which hotel to pick for this visit, but this will be my only choice for now on. Its convenient location made it easy for my friends to visit and the area is extremely walkable, close to an absolutely fantastic McDonalds too and lots of fancier places. Had some amazing steaks at a place across the street, was at an Irish pub until 4 am another night and overall, this is the ideal place for a well-off solo traveler, both young couples and retired ones, and for singles--this is a fantastic place to bring dates!

Also, top tier and secure! You need a card to use the elevator and to access the lounge at night. So the chances of anything nefarious happening are very low.

All of the staff are highly professional, smartly dressed, great conversationalists, have great integrity and are extremely service minded. Many of them had excellent grooming standards and presented well in their uniforms.

Haggenmacher has no peers or equals. These are the only guys in Budapest to do it right and better than any other service! Not to mention, they have fixed rate deals with taxis to and from the airport, really saving you...

Perfect location. Very close to the M1 metro line. Very good breakfasts, wide selection. We had a delux room (room no 3218) overlooking the main street. In the evening and at night there was no noise, which is a huge plus. Unfortunately, the cleaning service did not refill the shampoo bottles and there were no tissues. We reported this to the reception and asked them to leave it at the door, but it did not happen. Pillows too hard to sleep on. In this room it would be good to have a small office table and chair so that you can work on your laptop. The toilet flush fell off every time we used it. There was no free water in the room for that price, which I think is a joke. Lower category hotels have free water. So, we were shocked when we opened the fridge and there was a price of 600 Forints per bottle.?! What is the purpose of a coffee maker in the room then?

Regarding the restaurant. The manager was throwing people out at 10:30 am saying that breakfast was ending. We knew what time breakfast ended and there was no need for additional information. It would be useful to have general information printed on an A4 sheet with such information, so that each guest coming to the restaurant could see exactly what time breakfast ended again. Unnecessary stress while eating breakfast. We felt like we were in a competition that everything had to be done on time. ?

The only problem I noticed was the long wait to make coffee or pour water for tea. Waitresses kept bringing water in a jug to refill the coffee machine. At times there were between 6 and 9 people standing in line to make coffee. It was a tragedy. Who has time to wait for a cup of coffee when it took over 3 minutes to make the coffee?

Unfortunately, the Jura brand is not the right equipment for this type of establishment. Too weak, very slow. I am writing this from my own experience because I had such machines in my shops and unfortunately, they did not pass any test. After a year of time, I invested in better machines which have no problems after more than 3 years of operation.

The price for three nights of 1000 euros is unfortunately too high. We expected...

Honestly one of the best hotels I have stayed in anywhere in the world. The hotel itself is very well located, very central with all public transport around. The staff are very nice and attentive and helpful. The building is something else, the atrium (reception) is something to behold with it's glass roof. Also a vending machine that has, snacks and drinks, but also ladies sanitary products, iPhone and android charges and condom's. The room itself, honestly I could live in here, it's so comfy and cosy, you get a power shower with a rain head and a normal shower head, nice and powerful and hot, decent sized bathroom, with anti fog mirror, decent toilet and good sink area, nice big towels to. The room is a decent size, with controllable AC and heat to create your perfect room temperature. Lighting is good with an assortment of different lights and brightness. The TV is smart so you can connect your android or apple devices. Our room was a superior one with a massive glass window with a black out blind that spans the whole wall, plus a window than you can open, both controlled by a button on your wall. The bed is very comfy, the only downside is a queen size bed, but we had two separate small duvets on, which kept falling off in the night, one large one would have been better. The room also comes with a nespresso machine, with pods and tea bags/ milks and sugars. Maid service came round every day to change towels and tidy round, making beds etc, coffee and tea is also refilled every day. Room has a safe, cupboards, clothes rails and hair dryer, and iron and ironing board upping request, using your rooms phone to call reception. Over all a terrific stay and would definitely stay here again and recommended others to stay. We also won a go at there Christmas advent calendar, we opened the date we won envelope and won free cocktails in the hotel bar. The hotel also has a restaurant area but we didn't try food here on...

Recently I stayed at Hotel Oktogon for 4 nights on my first stay in Budapest. Had a great visit - One of the best hotels I've stayed in! A perfect location, set in Pest, on one of the main streets (luxury shopping street). Close walk to practically everything (despite the cold!). Close enough to walk to Jewish Quarter and 2 buildings down the great House of Terror Museum. A metro/bus/tram stop right outside the hotel, lots of Restaurants, fast food (McDonald's) coffee shops and supermarkets right next door for anything you need. The hotel itself was beautiful, a former palace set around a large courtyard used for sitting and breakfast. Gym, Spa & Saunas in the basement, typical European breakfast buffet style, friendly hotel staff/check-in, bar open until Midnight with a very friendly bar man who made some incredible cocktails. I stayed in a Superior Street View Double Room and it was perfect. Double bed, sofa/seating area, beautiful bathroom, safe, fridge, smart TV, everything you need. The décor was lovely with high ceilings and 2 large windows overlooking a side street. The hotel was VERY quiet, I was told it was sold out and all Rooms were booked, but I hardly saw another guest! Overall, couldn't recommend enough, and would definitely stay again if visiting Hungary.
