As you wander down Csengery Utca, the Victorian style buildings give way to a dystopian concrete jungle, driven on by thirst to what seemed an oasis amongst the desert we arrived at Jaromir 68. Looking at it from the outside we contemplated what would happen if we ventured inside?, after a few moments of indecisiveness, bravado took hold and we went in, after walking down a few steep stairs and having to limbo under the roof we reached the ground floor. As our eyes gradually adjusted to the gloom the decor seemed to match the Orwellian nightmare we had left behind, a quick look around and we located the bar, the only 2 customers (maybe hostages) and the barkeep. The first interaction we had with the barman was a barked order "how many?", "5" we replied, "too many, only 4", we looked around the empty bar wondering where the rest of the obvious throng was hidden, to once again settle our eyes on the only 2 customers in the bar. As we climbed the stairs and performed the limbo once again (which was not an easy task for one us considering he was 6' 4"), we arrived back in street. Having had time to reflect I think we had a lucky escape, I only hope the remaining customers got out...

The beer is very well kept and well poured - nice to see these options available. However, We passed the place twice on Sat/Sun evening to find it closed but it was open on Monday evening.
