Melior Szálló — Hotel in Egri járás

Stay away! I booked this accommodation online for ourselves and our two dogs. We wrote a request stating that we were coming with two dogs, we also called in advance and the person we spoke to said it was not a problem and there was no surcharge. We also received an email saying there was no surcharge for the dogs. When we arrived at the location, there was no one there. We called and the person that answered the phone claimed they never received our reservation (though we received a confirmation and an email saying there was no surcharge for the dogs), there person condescendingly said we should have called 30 min in advance and some one will meet us there. A lady came and started complaing about our dogs and we said we said in advance. She demanded on taking away the carpet which we had no problem with. As we went inside the lady kept complaining about dogs and how a French Bulldog that stayed the night before caused a carpet to smell. When we started to full out the papers they lady demanded we pay immediately, which was fine and we agreed to. Then the lady said we need to pay a surcharge for the dogs. We told her about the email and the call we made and immediately shoved a phone in our hands to speak to someone. We told the lady on the phone the same thing and the lady started to argue with us that people that come with dogs should do their homework first to which I said we did. Then she claimed that it's stated on booking to which I told her it is not and I wrote in the notes as a special request that we were coming with two dogs and called in advance. They lady on the phone kept arguing with us very condescendingly then told us to go elsewhere. After we left she sent us a text message with someone asking a question if there is a surcharge and an answer of yes, on top of that when we replied with a picture of the email stating that our reservation was confirmed and there was no extra charge, she then sent us an SMS saying we should be more intelligent in reading emails. What a joke, this is not acceptable. Instead of admiting their mistake they told us to leave on Christmas. How are these people still...

Super clean, very well appointed, super blingy (almost every surface sparkles, even the gout in the tiles!) room. Rooms are not large but are well done and the ones we (2 couples) stayed in had small balconies. Though they did overlook a busy street, noise was not an issue for us. Our friends did complain, after we left, so we could not check it out, that their room smelled of cigarettes. I assume this was because some uncaring guest smoked on the balcony with the window/door open. There are even two small kitchen areas in this small guest house, that were stocked with coffee, fruit teas, and hot chocolate, a refridgerator, cooktop, cookware, silverware, glassware (yup, real glass too)... There is also a wine cellar on site that you can access to buy wines (honor system) anytime.| If you go, travel a couple doors down and visit the Gal Tibor winery, one of Hungary's best.| The only wierd thing was that they asked for the room to be paid for in cash ($50/room/night), and we were not informed of this until we had made our booking online (booking.com). Három éjszakát töltöttünk el ketten + kutyánk a szállón, a földszinti 2-es szobát kaptuk meg (4 személyre hitelesített). Sok csomaggal érkeztünk, az őszi idő kiszámíthatatlansága miatt vittünk tartalékot bőven. Ezek elhelyezésével nehezen boldogultunk az egy darab szekrényben, amiben egy kis hűtő is helyet kapott. Az illatosítót kikapcsoltam a szobában és a folyosón lévőt is kihúztam, mert már kezdett nagyon tömény lenni, így kicsit fellélegeztünk. Picit nagyobb szobára számítottam, igaz én nem voltam elég alapos, mert a négyzetmétert feltüntették az adatlapon.

Pozitív és negatív tapasztalatok: Az első estén 21.30 körül megérkezett az emeleten lakó csapat, kb. 8 ember, és mint egy nagy családban, úgy éreztük magunkat. Nem hangoskodtak, normálisan beszélgettek, kihúzták a széket stb. de mivel a szoba a nagy földszinti konyha mellett van, és az ajtók teljesen normál beltéri, hangszigeteletlen ajtók, és valószínűleg a falak sem túl hangszigeteltek, így mi is részesévé váltunk esti programjuknak, mintha kihúztuk volna az ágyat a konyhába. Aztán felvonultak, de a sétálásukat, pakolásukat is lehetett hallani. Megszavaztuk, szobacsere lesz! Reggel jeleztük Juditnak, hogy valamit találjon ki, mert ez így nem igazán tuti, és kicsit nyögve nyelősen, de sikerült megkapni az emeleti 3-as szobát. Ez már szinte maga volt a kánaán, ugyanis a 2-es szoba ablaka az utcára néz, ami elé egy asztalhoz ki lehet ülni, és ha bent villanyt kapcsol az ember, akkor össze is lehet köszönni akár öltözés közben is (ilyenkor a redőnyt le lehet húzni). A buszok is ott járnak elég gyakran, így igazi pihenésre számunkra alkalmatlan volt. De a hármas szobában lett privátszféránk! Kisebb volt négyzetméterre, ezzel picit küzdöttünk, de jobb volt benne a hangulatunk, volt levegő, és van egy külön fedett kis teraszrésze, ahol nagyon jókat lehetett szundikálni, kávézni, igazán pihenni. Volt egy kis szerencsénk is, mert aznap az egész épületben csak mi voltunk, így abszolút csendes volt a szállás. Aztán estére megérkezett a többi vendég, de mindenki normálisan viselkedett, jófejek voltak.

Amik tömören a főbb tapasztalatok voltak:

Vendéglátóink kedvesek, rendesek voltak. A szállás tiszta, foglalkoztak vele, nem ragad semmi. A konyha normálisan felszerelt, jól használható (azért nem főzős műsorhoz!). A szállás nem volt drága. A szállás nagyon közel van a belvároshoz, nagyon sokat sétáltunk, "hazaugrottunk" és vissza tekeregni.

A hangszigetelés olyan, hogyha a földszini szobákban valakik kicsit jobban hancúroznak, azt az emeleti konyhában is lehet hallani. A 2-es szobában zuhanyzás után, ahogy párásodik a fal, elkezd egy dohos szag terjengeni, ha nincs illatosító. A szobaajtók egyszerű szerkezetűek, és a zárak is alapok, számozott kulcsokkal. Így fordulhat elő, hogy egyik szoba kulcsa nyitja a másikat. (rossz tapasztalat ebből nem volt, a bejárati ajtót mindig zárja mindenki, van széf, de nekem...
