Absolutely miserable experience. You hear literally anything someone does in the hotel. Ive stayed in some pretty bad hotels, but none had such poor quality sound insulation. The walls must be a single sheet of card stock because it's like all the people in the rooms around me were in my room. The whole experience is made worse by the loud doors and the fact they're all deadbolts so every 2 minutes you hear a loud bolt sliding into place. It's truly baffling that this hotel was created in such a way you could here Everytime your neighbors go to the bathroom. What's the point of a hotel that advertises a "restful beginning or end to your stay in Iceland" when you can't actually get to sleep? I hope this review can save someone with a red eye flight the hassle, just stay at the hotel by the airport or something, this is not worth it. I'm surprised this place has such great reviews

other negatives included the lazily cleaned bathrooms that appear clean when you first get in, but door knobs and handles appear smudgy. There's no shower gel or soap, so unless you brought your own be prepared to just use their really strange smelling shampoo and conditioner with an odd consistency and appearance. Toilet seat is uncomfortably close to the shower. Toilet paper is made of 80 grit sandpaper. The safe didn't work. The outlets only work with the lights on, good luck charging devices overnight. The room was hotter than the saunas I visited. The bed is made of volcanic stone and the pillows are flat, hard, and uncomfortable, they don't give you nearly enough to compensate. The TV has like 4 channels that actually work, thankfully the movie channel did work.

Okay so yeah, incredibly disappointed with my experience here and I'm mad I paid them for the privilege of getting about a good of a nights sleep as I could have in my rental car. And look, I'm not trying to be overly negative here, I can understand it is a 3 star hotel by the airport, but there is a certain level of comfort you can expect with that, I would definitely say this does not meet the standards of any other similarly priced hotel by an airport I have ever stayed at. Again, if you're looking to actually get some sleep for a flight here, LOOK ELSEWHERE

Just a few positives because I generally do try to leave places good reviews where I can:

The staff were all nice and she let us check in about an hour early. The night porter was very nice and check out was simple

The lobby is nice, modern and cozy with a gorgeous view of the ocean, city and mountains

Apparently the hot tub is nice, but we didn't get in it. It looked fine though.

The location is right near a few attractions in Keflavik (Giant house was neat and had good views) it's walking distance to restaurants if you don't wanna eat at the hotel (we didn't)

Close to the...

Hello,||||We stayed at this hotel for our last night in Iceland. I should mention that it was our engagement trip (my future husband proposed to me during this stay, so we had high expectations for this last night).||||I must admit that I am extremely disappointed and shocked. Several points need to be mentioned.||||Firstly, we wanted to enjoy the hot tub on the roof during the evening. I went to check the hot tub before we changed, and there was nothing unusual. After changing, we returned. Several people were already there, which was fine. My partner and I settled in quietly, and then we noticed a large swastika drawn on the glass panel. The people were chatting as if nothing was wrong, right in front of a swastika. Shocked and offended, given our respective family histories, we went down to the reception to inform them. The only response we got was: "Erase it yourself." We went back up to do it ourselves, and the receptionist also came up after us. His only action was to ask: "Is the light better on or off?" That's all you can expect from this kind of hotel. I wasn't expecting sanctions or anything, but at least some acknowledgment that having something like that there is unacceptable.||||Secondly, the rooms look beautiful in photos, but when you start to look at the details, you notice several issues:||- Missing light bulbs in the lamps||- No shower gel, and when we asked for some, we were told to use the hand soap because they didn't have any more||- The shower works, but it's impossible to use just the overhead shower or the handheld showerhead||- The provided bathrobes don't even cover our bodies||- The ventilation system doesn't work and is dirty; I would even add that it looks like it's about to fall off||- The rooms, as other reviews mention, are poorly insulated||- On a positive note, there is a kettle and coffee maker in the room||||Thirdly, we need to talk about the breakfast. Here is the description from the website: "Breakfast Buffets: Breakfast buffets are available every morning from 7-10 AM at a surcharge. The buffet includes various items such as baked bread and croissants, yogurt, coffee & tea, fruits & vegetables, smoothies, baked beans, scrambled eggs, bacon, and beans. Price: ISK 2900 (approx. $20/€19)."||In reality, for two people, you get one croissant, two small rolls, and a skyr with three blueberries. It's not at all up to standard and is false advertising. We had other breakfasts in Iceland that were cheaper and better. Really disappointed. What more can I say? Avoid this place.||||A hotel that tolerates Nazi acts and false advertising. Hello,

We stayed at this hotel for our last night in Iceland. I should mention that it was our engagement trip (my future husband proposed to me during this stay, so we had high expectations for this last night).

I must admit that I am extremely disappointed and shocked. Several points need to be mentioned.

Firstly, we wanted to enjoy the hot tub on the roof during the evening. I went to check the hot tub before we changed, and there was nothing unusual. After changing, we returned. Several people were already there, which was fine. My partner and I settled in quietly, and then we noticed a large swastika drawn on the glass panel. That's all you can expect from this kind of hotel. I wasn't expecting sanctions or anything, but at least some acknowledgment that having something like that there is unacceptable.

Secondly, the rooms look beautiful in photos, but when you start to look at the details, you notice several issues: Missing light bulbs in the lamps No shower gel, and when we asked for some, we were told to use the hand soap because they didn't have any more The shower works, but it's impossible to use just the overhead shower or the handheld showerhead The provided bathrobes don't even cover our bodies The ventilation system doesn't work and is dirty; I would even add that it looks like it's about to fall off The rooms, as other reviews mention, are poorly insulated On a positive note, there is a kettle and coffee maker in the room

Thirdly, we need to talk about the breakfast. Worst hotel experience of my life! I'll start right away with what shocked me the most: my partner and I went to the hot tub offered by the hotel. There were four people inside (10 minutes earlier my partner had gone to check and there was no one there). We got into the hot tub, and to our shock, we discovered a SWASTIKA drawn in the condensation on the window! We were obviously very shocked, especially since the four other people were casually chatting nearby as if nothing was wrong (we knew it was them, since again, there was no one there just 10 minutes before). It was such a bizarre situation that we decided to go complain to the front desk. The receptionist told me, “Yes, it’s offensive,” and asked if we could erase it. I told him there were people next to it and that I was extremely shocked. We went back up to the hot tub area, and the receptionist came up as well. He simply turned on the light (clearly saw the SWASTIKA), and asked the people if the lighting was better — but said absolutely nothing about the Nazi symbol on the window. On the contrary, he acted like it wasn’t even there. My partner had to erase it himself! I wasn’t expecting the receptionist to give them a lecture, but at the very least, he could have asked if they saw something and kindly told them that this kind of thing is inappropriate in a hotel. Just a basic warning — but no, nothing was said. I’m still in shock. I’ve never seen anything like this in a hotel. I expected at least a minimum reaction from the hotel. In 2025, this kind of act is absolutely unacceptable — we must not look the other way! Then, for some reason, there was shampoo and conditioner but no shower gel. We asked reception for some and were eventually given hand soap. The breakfast, advertised as a “buffet” (for €20 per person, mind you), was in fact not a buffet at all. We had to share 2 pieces of bread, two croissants, 4 slices of orange and melon, one spoonful of skyr with 3 blueberries on top, and a half-full glass of smoothie. Thankfully, the lady managing the breakfast was LOVELY and very kind! Please don’t waste your money on this hotel that doesn’t even react to seeing a Nazi symbol. Worst experience in all of Iceland. It’s a shame, but what a relief to write this review — I hope it makes reservations drop!
