TL/DR - Do NOT eat here.
I like to think I know a thing or two about Indian food, for the fact that I live in England where there happens to be a large Indian community, and Indian restaurants on every corner. I'll eat everything from a basic chicken tikka masala, to a vindaloo, and I do treat myself to a vindaloo quite often. I'm currently visiting Iceland and had a craving for some curry so I decided to look up on Google maps for the highest reviewed Indian restaurant in town. After reading the 31 very positive reviews left on this establishment, I opted to order a chicken vindaloo, basmati rice and two cheese naan for collection. I got back to my hotel excited and eager to have my tastebuds orgasm, but upon opening my container of food, I had quickly realized I had made a mistake ordering from here. Firstly the size of my main course seems more appropriate for a child. With only 5 small pieces of chicken, 5 small chunks of potato and an oily soup that had the consistency of hot grease, it's size was not amazing. The chicken was bland and while a typical vindaloo is supposed to have you crying from being too spicy... this was not spicy AT ALL. This abomination I have in front of me does not represent what a chicken vindaloo is supposed to look, smell, or taste like. The rice was not bad, though it looked more of a pilau rice. The naan was below average but was somehow warmer than my main course. So while maybe this is acceptable for the local town population, this WILL be a disappointment for anyone visiting and or having eaten Indian...
Read moreI took my pictures a little late once I realized we were not going to get what we paid for. But portions are seriously lacking. I received 5 tiny pieces of cubed chicken in the butter sauce. One picture shows the chicken piece example on a popsicle stick for reference. We were supposed to get rice with our orders and got a 2 person serving of rice rather than for 4 people that ordered 4 separate dishes that all include rice. Not sure if the naan was supposed to be the replacement, but not everyone ate naan at the table and was unaware that we were not being served the proper quantity of rice. Flavour was good. That was the only good...
Read moreAs some of the other reviews have mentioned, the portions are extremely small here. You get a very small amount of meat. The rice is very tasty and the curries weren't bad but definitely weren't anything special. The service was pretty strange. When arrivingx we were the only customers. The first employee didn't even say hi back but went into the kitchen to grab another employee. During our lunch, this first employee would just sit on his phone and since there was no music playing, we would just hear the various sounds from his phone. I had to go to the kitchen to ask for the check. Overall, not a...
