Oriento — Restaurant in Reykjanesbær

This is my favorite place to eat! Sometimes I get two orders so I’ll have one for later. Haha. I’m here for work and do a lot of food runs to this place. Whenever we’re deciding where we’re going on a food run, my vote always goes to Oriento. We have large orders and they bust it out no problem. They’re friendly and the food is always as good as it was the first time. I’m not a big fan of lamb but knew I had to try it and glad I did. It’s really good. The spicy chicken souvlaki and gyro’s are my favorite, but the plates are good too, especially if you want to try a couple different things. I went in there to use the toilet but was ready to spend some for it, then I looked at the menu before entering and 🤩 I had to ask if they had anything on the menu without carbs but I was told no .. "all things full of carbs" .. and then I asked if I could use the toilet and I was told that it was no problem. When I came back outside I told the waitress that I would come back when I was on a carb allowance 😅 Then she starts telling me that she could do some of the meat and salad dishes without all carbs and I went for it ... so delicious 😋🤤 I will still be coming back here on my #carballowance 😁

we have been to oriento probably around 3 or 4 times now, it is a great spot in downtown keflavik to get a quick bite to eat

can be a little on the pricey side but pretty standard by icelandic standards

all of the workers and owners are very friendly and accommodating

one of us will normally get a kebab or gyro, and the other a platter

the lamb is great but i think the chicken gyro/kebab is even better

there are always people in here, and there are additional seating areas in the back rooms
