Biryani — Restaurant in Reykjanesbær

First of all this is not biryani in any place of the world. It’s just shawarma meat over flavored rice like halal guys of New York. So it’s gross misbranding and gas lighting unaware people to think this as biryani. Coming to quantity, lamb biryani compares to that of a kids menu (see the pic). I’m not expert with prices in Iceland but for anything offered as main course this quantity is a crime. The taste is mediocre at best and the service is not welcoming at all. The girl at the counter makes you feel in a way that you’re not supposed to be there. The atmosphere is basic and doesn’t feel like eating there. This place has been around in Keflavik city ever since i moved here. I come there often due to being a night shift worker and this place is very convenient if you want good food late in the evening. The people working there are always very nice and they have great customer service. I sometimes come a bit later than usual just before closing time and they are always so nice to me and make my food in a jiffy. Amazing! One of the best meals we had in Iceland. Icelandic food can be very plain and repetitive so this food is very refreshing and spicy. We got the lamb biryani and mixed biryani with a side of big fries. Hefty portions but we’re big eaters so we ended up getting more after. They play great music on top of it all. 10/10 would recommend. Definitely a delicious spot with friendly service and great choices! Much love from California! Wish we had an option this...
