I had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful guesthouse twice—once upon arriving in Iceland and again on my return. Both stays were unforgettable, showing the the charm and hospitality that make guesthouses so special.

This guesthouse is a true gem, blending vernacular Icelandic architecture/design with a warm and authentic atmosphere. It offers the perfect balance of charm and convenience. Located 6 km from the airport, it is incredibly accessible, yet it feels like a peaceful retreat. The property is within walking distance of a quaint town center, borders the water, and even features a backyard basin filled with hot geothermal waters—a perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring.

With only six rooms spread across two floors and a shared bathroom on each floor, the guesthouse’s small, family-run nature is at its heart. Yuki & Andi go above and beyond, offering personal attention and care. They even tailored my room choice to match my itinerary, ensuring the best possible experience. The place is exceptionally clean, and the bedding is very comfortable. I enjoyed the homemade breakfasts featuring freshly baked bread, delicious cakes like banana bread, local berries, and amazing cappuccinos—perfect for starting the day.

The intimate scale of the guesthouse creates a sense of community. I enjoyed conversations with the hosts (owners) and fellow guests, which added warmth to my stay. This level of connection is something that larger hotels cannot easily replicate. Guesthouses like this offer an authentic and personal experience that sets them apart.

During my December and January stays, I rented an electric vehicle to explore the southern coastline and Reykjavík’s bathhouses. The guesthouse served as the perfect base for my adventures.

I highly recommend this family-owned guesthouse to anyone seeking a unique, personal, and memorable stay in the...

What a lovely place to stay. Andi and Yuki were phenomenal hosts. The location is just 10 minutes from the Keflavik airport. I’d recommend staying here at least on your first day and last day. It’s incredibly convenient to get in and just be right at your location. The pickup and drop off service is worth the extra fee.

The accommodations themselves were comfortable. The room was nice and tidy. The bed and pillow were very comfy and I’m pretty particular about that. The bathrooms are shared, but there are two and they’re always clean. It was never an issue at all.

The geothermal pool is amazing. We were fortunate enough to see the volcano eruption while sitting in there, watching the sky light up bright orange. The walk to the water was just about two minutes, which is definitely worth the view.

It’s only about 30 minutes to The Blur Lagoon and maybe 45 minutes from Reykjavik. I highly recommend staying here as opposed to Reykjavik as it is peaceful and serene.

Finally, the breakfast was delicious. I’m a picky eater and every single thing on that plate was excellent.

You cannot go wrong staying here. There’s a reason it...

Wow .. where to start?  We had taken the first night in this guest near the airport, and it was the best thing that happened to us.  Our luggage was lost when we arrived, they lent us swimsuits, washed our clothes and gave us towels.  They also picked us up from the airport 5 minutes after calling them on site (although this is a service they do offer) because our rental was not up to date, so they also got us  helped find a half price car rental through their partnership with a very accommodating agency: KefCar.  They also advised us on routes, places to visit and how to make the most of the trip.  As for their guesthouse, it feels like home, it feels cocooned and cozy!  They are two very caring angels who will really take care of you.  In addition to all the comforts you need (slippers, shower gels, shampoo and conditioner, blankets, bathrobes, kettle and small bags of coffee and tea of all kinds, as well as a little attention from Yuki)  , they offer a delicious typical Icelandic homemade breakfast, bread, banana cakes, a mixture of sweet and savory.  And for the more picky ones like me, they can adapt and serve you an exclusively sweet breakfast, or even vegetarians and companies!  Let's not forget the hot tube, this natural stone bath where the water is at 40 ° C under the stars is just magical, before going to sleep, it's extremely relaxing.  I highly recommend this guest, the welcome is perfect, the hosts very pleasant and basically kind.  Very smiling and delicately attentive You can count on them in case of need, they are angels and their...

We loved everything about staying at Guesthouse 1x6! The whole place is so beautifully built and cared for. There is art everywhere, sculptures in the garden, murals on the wall, and the tile and woodwork of the house itself. The hosts are wonderful. They picked us up from the bus station after we returned our camper van, and made us fresh coffee at 5am before driving us to the airport. Everything was very clean and well thought out, all of our needs anticipated. There were also nice personal touches throughout, for example the homemade chocolates in our room, and a homemade cookie shaped like Iceland accompanying our morning coffee (both delicious). Also my favorite feature was the beautiful stone geothermal hot tub in the backyard. It was so fun talking to the other guests while soaking outside after the day of travel. The whole place feels like an experience in itself. I would highly recommend, we would have loved to stay longer and hope to go back one day!
