We had an awesome time at this special B&B with this very special family.
Our room was a bright and airy and large double with awesome balcony (which we spent a lot of time on just hanging out). It was spacious and private and well appointed.
Breakfast was home cooked and served in family dining room and was sooooo tasty and variety each day. It was so much fun to hang out with various family members and other guests at breakfast - swapping stories and ideas. So much more intimate than a hotel environment.
We took advantage of Sagar’s local expertise and he escorted us an an Old Delhi backstreet walk and street food tour (with another couple of guests) and explored places and tasted food that we would never have managed to find ourselves - well worth it. Lunch at the King of Naan was amazing!!
Another option here is to request a home cooked dinner for a small additional charge. It was awesome and something quite special.
Sagar was also super helpful in trip planning - giving us tips on where to visit (and in what order) to make the most of our days in Delhi.
The Gupta family were all welcoming and charming and friendly and we enjoyed our time with them but at the same time we had tons of privacy and time just to be with each other.
It’s a great neighbourhood to stay in - out of the hustle and bustle in a lovey residential area and we get 100% safe walking around day and night.
We highly recommend this terrific B&B and wish to family every success...
Read moreMy 4-night stay at Prakash Kutir B&B was absolutely fantastic, and I can't recommend it enough for fellow tourists exploring Delhi! The location is super nice, offering incredibly easy access to the metro, which made getting around the city a breeze. As a solo traveler, I truly appreciated feeling so safe and secure – it's an excellent base for any tourist. The B&B itself is a true gem. My room felt just like a home away from home – very clean and comfortable, providing the perfect retreat after a day of sightseeing. Having access to a fully equipped kitchen was another convenient touch that made my stay even more comfortable. What really stood out were the thoughtful services and personal touches. The dine-in option was a lifesaver, and easy taxi hires were incredibly helpful for getting to specific destinations. The hosts are incredibly knowledgeable about the city and provided precious tips that enhanced my exploration. A definite highlight was the food! I had dinner at the residence on 3 of the 4 nights I was there, and the meals were absolutely delicious and so well prepared. You simply must try the Indian veg dishes – the host cooks superbly! It was a genuine culinary treat. Prakash Kutir B&B truly offers a wonderful, safe, and delicious experience for anyone visiting Delhi. I'm already looking forward to...
Read moreThe perfect introduction to Delhi. I stayed with the Gupta family at Prakash Kutir B&B for a couple of nights with my family at the start of our travels in India and then again for a couple of days before returning to the UK. The area of Hauz Khas in South Delhi is away from a lot of the hustle and bustle of Old Delhi. Leafy streets, parks etc. The B&B is a very easy and pleasant 10 min walk from the metro station and we could get tuk tuks and taxis easily from the end of the street.
Staying in a homestay/B&B like this has so many advantages. A real personal touch. Delicious breakfast prepared by Mrs Gupta (dinners equally delicious and to be recommended). Lots of great advice from Sagar and his parents on how to negotiate Delhi for the first time, and what to see and do. I would absolutely recommend doing the Old Delhi walking tour, which we did with Sagar. Exploring the maze of bazaars in Old Delhi with someone who knows it so well was a real pleasure. Sagar picked some great spots for street food snacks which we might otherwise have been too cautious to try on our first full day in India.
The rooms are good with plenty of hot water and good AC if needed and a nice roof terrace too. Thank you, Mr and Mrs Gupta, and Sagar for such...
