Hotel M & Resort — Hotel in Himachal Pradesh

I generally never write poor reviews unless service experience is poor. This was likely my worst experience in MacLeod Ganj in this visit. Once I arrived looked like I was the first person this afternoon, a lovely gentleman greeted me, said would I like a beer of soft drink as I looked hot, I smiled and said you read my mind, then came along another uniformed person who curtly informed me Kingfisher is not available but ultra was, I said yes, he said it will cost you Rs450/-, I was a bit taken aback it almost sounded he questioned my ability to pay. Then he said you can order anything from this menu, I said I was feeling like a Paratha, he said No, it's for breakfast only, it was not that it was not available but the manner of his NO was offensive. I said, you do say NO a lot. Being a career hotelier and leading one of the finest hotels in the world I felt this was awful. I should have walked out but being the first customer did not want to, I read reviews of the hotel most of them very positive, so maybe it's just this person. As as waited for the food, I noticed, I was served in chipped plate, the spoon and forks are dusty, the condiment pot tray dirty.

The food was good, I have to admit freshly cooked but as I said the rest of the experience not up to mark.

However looking at most reviews I might actually stay here next time as I loved the location. One person's bad attitude cannot be blamed to whole hotel and service standard anyway, I will likely give it another go when...

Very bad service, no tea bags and other kits which hotels usually provide in their rooms.||2. i asked room service to bring me coffee they provided tea and when i asked them that i wanted coffee they said they are having plenty of orders in their cafe( they have a separate cafe also near to the reception ) thats why mistake happened and they said it cant be changed now. also i ordered veg pakoda (160 rs) and there were only 4-5 pieces in the plate of shimla mirch.||3. we went for outing , my mother in law was in hotel, she is old cant walk much on hills. we ordered Dal khichdi for her , when we came back in eve she told us that she didnt get khichdi. when we asked hotel staff they said they cant provide it . the worst thing is they didnt even care to inform us.||4. parking near to hotel is also a challenge , there is a common tourist parking 300-400 mtrs away from hotel without any guard , you have to park your car over there.||5. next day when we went for breakfast around 9.15Am , we were informed that Breakfast is not ready and it will take another half an hour , i was really pissed off till that time and i asked hotel manager to deduct the breakfast money from the bill and i am leaving.||i paid around 10000 for two rooms for single night and got this service ,this Hotel needs to work on its service nd staff. wont recommend...

We had initially booked our stay for a day only. The staff and reception team esp Ashwini and Nitin were very good, attentive, always greeted with a smile and asked us about our day plan and gave suggestions. We extended our stay for another day as usually we explore different hotels but this was convenient and location was superb. We had booed a superior balcony room which was little overpriced I think with respect to washrooms. The taps and bathroom need a refurbish. The management should look into it. We lastly extebs3d another day , this time since we needed for few hours we took the non balcony room which was far better than superior room . We did not eat here so can't comment on the food. All we had was Peanut masala which was good and tea. All the top restaurants and cafes are within 200 m so it's a great place with respect to the location.
