Mcllo - Pierce Brosnan! This charming restaurant has captured my heart since my first visit in 2009, with return trips in 2010, 2018, and now looking forward to 2025. Nestled in the beautiful McLeodganj, it stands out as my favorite spot. The highlight of this place is undoubtedly the rooftop terrace, located on the 3rd floor, which offers breathtaking views of the surrounding hills. It's often bustling with visitors, but there’s always a welcoming atmosphere, and the courteous staff does a commendable job of seating you in a pleasant spot.
The indoor areas are vibrant and filled with chatter, creating a lively ambiance, but the rooftop's charm is truly captivating. The food is consistently delightful, with the mutton seekh kebab being our absolute favorite—perfectly spiced and grilled to perfection. However, there are some areas for improvement that I hope the management considers:
The absence of a live band diminishes the potential for a more festive atmosphere. A dance floor would definitely elevate the experience for those who love to let loose. I noticed a lack of a fire exit, which raises safety concerns—perhaps it’s just not visible enough. The evolution of the restaurant could include updates that maintain its charm while enhancing functionality. The overall noise level can be quite overwhelming at times, making conversation challenging. Their beer prices, at 450₹ per bottle, feel a bit steep. On rainy days, the makeshift roof can be problematic due to leaks, which understandably dampens the experience. I also noticed that hard drinks aren't available, which could limit options for some guests. The absence of high chairs might be inconvenient for families with young children. There’s no bar area, which would be a great addition for socializing. For those seeking a more discreet experience, the offer of beer only at the table can feel restrictive, especially if you prefer a quiet setting.
Despite these concerns, Mcllo remains my favorite haven in McLeodganj. The mixture of great food, a vibrant atmosphere, and stunning views keep drawing me back...
Read more5 star restaurant ,multi storey but we prefer to dine at the roof top, which is also sheltered from the rain and cool wind outside. Service is good. The chow mien and fried rice is nice if you long for Chinese food and wanted to try something other than Indians perhaps after travelling so long in India They serve beer, one small bottle will do. Its feremented from barley and hops. Vegetarian. You won't get drunk. Its good for health after travelling whole day to reach Dharamsala and McLeod Ranj. Cool your system, quench your thirst and replace lost fluid. Beer is not haram if you take small amount like a small bottle or a mug a day. It becomes medicine. We sin because we overdose and abuse ourselves and get addicted to Alcohol and cigarettes and Drugs.smoking is bad as we pollute the environment causing discomfort to people nearby sensitive to smoke , creating 2nd hand smoke for others to breathe which is more of a greater sin. Cigarette shld be haram. More evil than beer. Drinking beer cause no harm to anyone. In chinese traditional medicine, a tiny amount of mercury or Arsenic is medicine but larger amount in gross will be poisonous. So is Homeopathy medicine which have very minute dilution and succussion in nano particles level. Poison becomes medicine. We sin because of bad thoughts in our mind which we cannot control. Same thing for woman's dressing. We seen so many in many races and countries even bikinis and it does not make us want to rape them. Truth is The soul and iman is weak then man sin and have dirty thoughts and desire. Don't blame the beer. Pray more. We have a good night sleep and woke up fresh the next morning. If at McLeod Ranj, come to this place, it is good for...

Mcleodganj's central market is flooded with dozens of eating joints and this is the one that makes the most business, be it breakfast, lunch or dinner, you'll always find tourists flooding Mc'llo!
I visited this place twice for dinner on a week long stay in Dharamshala!
Food - 2/5
1st experience -
Ordered a Veg Pizza with some basic veggies listed so I had to get it customised. Added a few veggies and extra Cheese. Forget the veggies, I guess they take extra cheese very very seriously as there was hardly any trace of vegetables. The pizza was horribly loaded with cheese only!

The very next day, we decided to try North Indian as Italian had already disappointed big time! Little did we know that the most expensive place in the market will turn us off again!
Ordered Dal Makhani, Panner and Malai Kofta alongwith Raita and Garlic Naan. The food tasted average.
Instead of having an extensive menu, I recommend that they should keep the menu limited and focus on quality!
The Ambience is good, better than a lot of others in the vicinity. It's spread across 2 levels and is quite spacious.
Service is prompt. The stewards were...
