Meenakshi Inn — Hotel in Karnataka

I booked two a/c rooms in advance (5th Sep 2022) as I travelled with my parents and kids, which I mentioned clearly. I reminded them one week before, a day before, and on the day of check-in (2nd October 2022, 12.30pm), I called them to inform them of my arrival time.

They didn't mention anything, but just half an hour before our check-in, they called and told us due to water leakage, one room was not available. Because the reviews I read came to mind, I told them it was their responsibility to arrange and mention the reviews. The moment I mentioned the reviews, they agreed to arrange some other place. No shock, the rooms are stinky dungeons.

They delayed as much as they could and then, with no other option, agreed to move to a flat in Regal Woods Apartments. They said it was nearby, but 5.3 km from their hotel.

It’s a penthouse on the 15th floor with no proper roof, no security. The entryway doesn't have a roof itself-anyone can jump in, one bathroom, no water and food availability nearby, I can go on.

What made me write this review is their ease of making fraud. When we arrived, we asked to see the leakage room. They said the room doesn't have electricity either. We said we would adjust in 1 room, then they said another story but didn't show rooms.

The highlights are that we were asked to pay for two AC rooms for the penthouse, where one room has no AC, and they didn't give us a bill with a GST number.

Their target is mostly people coming with their elderly or kids because we can’t risk asking for advance money back...

During our visit to Udupi to explore the enchanting Shri Krishna Matha, we chose to stay at this hotel, and it proved to be an excellent decision. The hotel's location is ideal, just a short 5-minute stroll from the temple, making our daily visits effortless. The rooms were impeccably maintained and offered a comfortable retreat after a day of sightseeing. Additionally, being in close proximity to the bus stand simplified our travel arrangements. Having a restaurant within the same building was incredibly convenient, allowing us to indulge in delicious meals without having to venture far. Overall, our experience at this hotel was nothing short of wonderful, and I highly recommend it to anyone planning a visit to Udupi...

The hotel is well located in the center city area and within easy walking distance to sites, good restaurants, shopping, bus stations and even the occasional bar. However, it is not noisy because it is tucked away along a side street. The room is very pleasant and well appointed. It is up-to-date with a recent refurbishment. The bathroom is exceptional. Wifi access is excellent and very consistent with only a very occasional signal drop that is restored almost immediately. The staff are very friendly and very knowledgeable. This hotel is well managed. You will not likely have any problems, but if you do need any help, there is always a staff member available to for problem solving. I would stay here again...
