Hotel Grand Serene — Hotel in Karnataka

Spent a 2 nights in Hotel Grand Serene Mysore. It is well located - places of interest like the zoo, aquarium, Mysore Palace and a few more are of walking distance. There is a supermarket around the corner and also a small shop that sells simple but tasty Dosas. It is in a fairly quiet environment. The hotel is simple but self-sufficient.

The room itself was rather clean & spacious. I would like to bring up a few points regarding the service/room/hotel.

Towels were greyish instead of white. They took the guest’s own towel without checking the label on it. We hung it on the chair and still they took it away. I was really unhappy. Two floor mats to the bathroom should be given as once you showered, the water seemed to flow all over the floors. Toilet rolls were only left with one third of a roll, per room was given only 1. This wasn’t enough. We had to ask for an additional of 2, twice. Aircon was very noisy, especially in the wee hours. At times, it just went off, and then back on again. Hot cold hot cold and my room mate didn’t feel well the next morning. Fortunately we had brought medicines. Each room was only given 2 bottles of water. They do charge if you asked for additional. Our room didn’t come with a fridge. We got to surrender our room key to the hotel front desk whenever we left the hotel. One key card was allocated per room which we had to slot into the control box to activate lights and all. Calls made to housekeeping / front desk or any departments were never answered. We got to approach the staff directly for help. The hotel has only 1 restaurant right on the top floor. It would turn into a pub in the evening. The breakfast served was simple but ample to us. Though we would prefer to see little tags to name the buffet spread. Service staff - housekeeping - didn’t seem to be happy.

The view from the restaurant was refreshing with lots of greenery. The air was fresh and cool during my stay. The friends who stayed together were more important than the mentioned inconveniences. We overcame the little imperfections. Hopefully, the hotel...

Place was beautiful, clean, neat and sorted. Prime location so impossible to miss. Plenty of parking because the staff took the car for valet parking. Food was good. The restaurant and bar were amazing. For reasons unknown to me, the food and especially the alcohol rates were very low. The same items, if ordered in Bangalore, would've cost me at least 1.5 to 2 times more. Maybe its the city that's more economical? The only problem is the staff. The receptionists were very cold and did not seem interested in attending the guests, especially my family. When we checked in and checked out, their appearance and behavior was not welcoming. In fact during check out he said, “we've to do room inspection!” i felt offended after hearing these words. Plus the lady at the reception also told me twice, “Sir we have to check the mini bar inside the room.“ i felt weird because it was me who gave her a list of snacks that we bought from the mini bar. So, not sure what she even meant. I told them to bring Black Coffee and to my surprise it was 90% hot water and 10% Coffee. Bad taste. Next time when i requested for a Black Coffee, they just denied it. That behavior also shocked me. Our waiter at the restaurant seemed extremely young to be working at a bar. And he had extremely low voice as if he was scared or shy or uncomfortable. Overall, the staff's attitude, appearance, presence and behavior was disappointing and unprofessional. I paid 10K for one night. So was expecting a little...

Pathetic service !! HOTEL NOT RECOMMENDED Don't go with the outlook of the hotel. Services are really bad. At first we were charged more because it was a direct booking - Paid Rs 6000/- for a single Night which was NOT WORTH at all We were given room with Broken Lock- upon asking to change they did change NO TV CHANNELS - You have to ask them specifically to subscribe the channels which is limited to - 4 Channels only Upon asking for Fresh Towels - they questioned us what happened to earlier towels and changed the towels only after taking the other towels back Denied to give fresh cups for tea- Instead staff wanted to enter the room to wash the used cups Very Rude and Arrogant staff - They don't care how they are building the customer's experience. There supervisor also was very unbothered. He was ignorant of his staff's behaviour. WIFI also doesn't work.
