Pancharatna Paradise, Udupi — Hotel in Karnataka

We had booked 2 rooms for 2 nights, and the experience we had was horrible. Firstly staff behaviour is pathetic, they don't care to listen to customers at al. The whole hotel seems like a haunted house without any lights (I guess they are trying to cut down electric costs), they do not switch on any lights in hallways and corridors, the main doors are of poor quality, frame of door is not properly fixed to the wall, its chipping off, there is no proper maintenance, the rooms are extremely dirty, there is no housekeeping service, there is some hole in the washroom where they have fixed one water bottle to cover the hole, the washrooms are very dirty and the floors are literally black due to dirt but they don't care to clean, in one of the washrooms there were tiles missing, in one of the washrooms there was no soap holder it was broken and they haven't cared to fix it, TV doesn't work, one of the bathroom latches were broken, they have never cleaned the centre tables from the time its been purchased, the rooms, hallways and corridors are full of cigarette smell, there is no sanitization, no covid protocols are being followed, in one of the rooms they have passed electric black pipe through curtain rod and the curtain brackets are lying in almirah. Pathetic experience, worst hotel ever I have been to. I suggest no one to visit this hotel. They have put up just external building pictures in Make My Trip, GoIbibo and other websites such that people dont understand the reality and book the hotel. But trust me, its pathetic. Surprisingly Udupi is really busy during most of the year, especially too busy during the biennial festival called “Paryaya” which is in January 2014. All my efforts failed after a lot of online searching and making phone calls to get a booking in some of the known best hotels I ended up booking a room at the Pancharatna Paradise. This is not the first time I stayed here. The last time was about 4 years ago with couple of friends. The hotel is located on the busiest road of Udupi, so expect disturbance from traffic from morning 6am to night 10pm. The rooms away from main road should be much quitter. The deluxe AC rooms are spacious with one double & one single bed. I would not say it’s clean but manageable for a night’s stay. The AC remote is not usually kept in the room so its a bit painful to get somebody to turn it up or down. There is a restaurant attached. The best part of the stay was the room service. It was pretty quick and efficient. The 4 wheeler parking is thru a very narrow road next to the hotel which can accommodate...

We went to the restaurant based on recommendations from friends.. The staff were very friendly and food was ok until we saw small baby cockroaches on the wall next to our table.. As i looked around (in the relatively dark restaurant, i began to see a few more, and more.. As i gazed around, i saw a 15 of them on the top of the wall right next to us!! Needless to say, we got up and walked out asap. What really riled me was when the Manager suggest i pay 50% of the bill !! Apparently, it was pest control done the previous day which brought them out, rather than kill them.. Overall, a bad experience.
