This place has a great vibe and is definitely a good spot to hang out with friends or family. The ambiance is welcoming and the staff was courteous throughout our visit. We especially enjoyed the starters—they were flavorful, well-seasoned, and came out fairly quickly. It really set a good tone at the beginning of the meal.

However, the main course was quite disappointing. We ordered Chinese-style noodles and fried rice, but both dishes lacked flavor and tasted quite bland. It felt like the seasoning was either forgotten or just not balanced well, which was a letdown considering how good the starters were.

Another thing to keep in mind is the parking situation. The space available is very limited, and during peak hours, it could be a hassle to find a spot. This might be something to consider if you're planning to drive there.

Beak Well and Truly Wetted at Pieces Lounge Bar

After a week of bouncing from bus seats to temple steps, I decided my beak deserved some quality wetting – and Pieces Lounge Bar in Udupi delivered like an old friend who knows exactly how you like your drink.

The menu? A well-curated balance of comforting bar bites and dishes with enough flavour to make you forget you’re counting calories (or pretending to). Drinks were spot on with generous pours, fresh mixers, and the kind of presentation that says, “Yes, we care about your Instagram too.”

Prices were refreshingly reasonable, especially for the level of food, drink, and phenomenal service. The staff hit that sweet spot between attentive and non-intrusive – my glass was never empty, but I never felt hovered over either.

Editing the review based on my visit yesterday. The restaurant certainly has to work on the quantity of main course for the price range they offer at udupi. A paneer ghee roast served was exactly 10 pieces regular of diced cubes and a main course ordered will be served 3/4 in a container with 4 pieces to count exactly. As the standard serving pieces are 5-6 which the used to serve was reasonable for their pricing, This was the first time i faced a issue in this restaurant from past visit since 3 years. The reponse to the complaint was very strage where as the captain was not aware about the quantity to which he called up to kitchen and enquired it with the kitchen supervisor, then i had to speak to the GM to which he responded with a stating that their serving per portion is 4 pieces in a main course.
