I have been visiting this place since my childhood. Have had wonderful memories with my grandfather in this restaurant πͺπͺ. I have seen the place from my grandfather time. Woodland is one of my favourite restaurant in udupi. there has been a significant improvement in ambiance. the restaurant is completely air-conditioned. veg restaurant. In food i would suggest for first timers to the restaurant. Dosa- a variety of them, I prefer set dosa- does have a flavor of ginger in it. tastes wonderful. Cutlet-beetroot cutlet- tastes amazing, mouthwatering. if you like south Indian food try the south Indian thali-you will enjoy Udupi flavors food has to end with a dessert- for diabetic people they have sugar free ice creams as well. They do taste a little different from the regular icecreams but hard to find restaurants who serve desserts sugar free. with all this need to know- the service is very quick. Note: "Weekends please book your table for lunch or dinner." I would score this place a 4 star rating but they lack parking space. the restaurant one floor lower to the entrance and has no elevator facility. difficult for people how are allergic to stairs.

We went here for lunch on Saturday afternoon around 2PM. As it is one of the highly rated restaurants in Udupi, it was little crowded. However, we got the table in five minutes. For starters, we ordered French Onion Soup, Gobi Chilli and Veg crispy. The soup had mild flavour and was tasty. Gobi Chilli was slightly on the spicy side, but it was good. Gobi was crispy and didnβt have a lot of onion and garlic in it. Veg Crispy on the other hand was not crispy as the name implied. It had an assortment of vegetables like carrot, potato, baby corn, onion and whatnot. But it was tasty nonetheless. For main course we wanted to order Mughlai Biryani. Unfortunately, it was not available and we ordered Haryali Biryani. It was based on Mint and Coriander leaves. It was yum! For dessert, we ordered Gudbad. Gudbad had 4 scoops of different flavoured ice creams with dry fruits. I loved it! The cream was creamy in texture and melted in the mouth unlike the ice creams from other places nearby. Woodlands restaurant is a must visit place if youβre in Udupi! Food - 4/5 Service - 4/5 Ambience - 3/5

One of the top rated vegetarian restaurant in udupi. The restaurant is located very close to the Krishna Temple. It was definitely worth the hype. If you are first time visitor make sure you go by 2 wheeler or walk as limited parking is available second you must visit before time as little wait time might be there. We were lucky we got seat but after us there was little wait. Coming to food we had paper masala Dosa 5 out of 5 crispy and served with chutney and Sambhar. Tomato soup was creamy and appropriately sweet..I loved it. Spring rooms were decent and good . We ordered kofta (redgravy) and Naan and kulcha . They wre also very good last for dessert we ordered gadbad ice-cream which wad literally show stopper and must try.. overall all the dishes were food. The other best part was owner who was personally involved in serving customers despite such rush and was also ensuring everyone is getting service on time The staff support is worth mentioning they were really very prompt and helpful..will definitely love to visit again.π₯°π₯° total bill after all these tasty food was 950 Rs .

Wish there was something less than 1 star or no star option to rate. After hearing much hype about this restaurant planned to visit this restaurant for breakfast on a Sunday morning. We had come all the way from Bangalore to Udupi and visiting this restaurant was on plan for us. Trust me the attitude of this guy so called manager (who calls himself as owner) and the kitchen manager was the worst experience to begin. Though we were in group made us sit in separate tables and to take our required orders he showed very bad attitude. They really hurt the tourists sentiments who come to experience the place and people. Food is not great either to cherish any memorable moment. It's a never return place for us. Please think twice before you plan to visit this place if you are new to Udupi. They seem to be happy only with locals and don't really expect new visitors as they were recommending us to visit any other restaurants for faster service. Hope these reviews reach owner and they take some action otherwise I don't think this place will be active for long. :( :(

As a foodie, We try many places but some places just stay in our heart forever.β€οΈ For me, Woodlands Restaurant Udupi is one such place. We visited here on our last trip to Udupi. We heard a lot about Woodlands Restaurant so we went here for our dinner. The seating was AC & ambience was great.π As per the recommendations, we quickly ordered South Indian Special Thali which is unlimited ( Not allowed to share ). The thali contains - 1/2 Soup, Puris, Kurma, 1 Cup Pulav, 1 Happalam, Rasam, Sambar, Dal, Rice, Dry Veg, 1 Cup Curd, 1 Sweet & 1 Cup Ice-cream. We requested & got extra Kurma, Puris, Rice & Dal.π For dessert, we ordered Gadbad Ice-cream.π The service was quick. The staff were friendly & just as family members they insisted us to have extra kurma-puris. The prices are pocket friendly which makes this place a great value for money.π We Tried - South Indian Special Thali - 185 Rs. Gadbad Ice-cream - 125 Rs. Virgin Mojito - 70 Rs. Overall a highly Recommended Place βοΈπ Don't miss this place when you visit Udupi.π

Was highly recommended by multiple people to visit this place. Was nervous that the food may not match the hype.. but how wrong was I? It exceeded my expectations and was worthy of recommendations received. First visited for breakfast. All the items were awesome. Banana buns deserved special praise. These were nothing like the stuff available in Bengaluru. The buns here are served hot and fresh. It can be punctured like a poori and was very delicious and one can definitely taste the banana. Just one banana bun couldn't satiate! Also loved the paper avalakki made with a delicious oggarne. The ambience adds to the experience. Spot lights on food elevated the appeal and air conditioning made the experience enjoyable. We also visited for lunch and had tasty South Indian meals, soup and veg pulav. All great stuff! Was just disappointed that I couldn't try goli baje and biscuit rotti. As we were early both for lunch and breakfast, got parking easily. But management can consider valet parking for increased customer satisfaction.
