If you're looking for the best lunch near Guruvayur Temple, SREE GOKULAM VANAMALA is the one place! Easily accessible to the temple and a rock to this restaurant the moment one visits the place, it is just exuberant with hospitality, nice ambiance, and wonderful coziness; it is instantly inviting. The hospitality is warmer with a warm, helpful staff who make one feel at home. Of course, the main highlight here is the food. Food served at lunch in SREE GOKULAM VANAMALA is simply heavenly. Their menu includes a wide array of traditional South Indian food items, each cooked authentically with fresh ingredients. That sadhya was a treat for the senses—a traditional Kerala meal with the perfect balance of spices and flavors. The food variety is astounding, and every bite is wonderful. Their standards of sanitation and cleanliness are kept really high, which binds the experience together with a person feeling really good amidst all this. It's very reasonably priced simultaneously, thus an excellent choice for one and all. On the whole, SREE GOKULAM VANAMALA offers excellent lunch near Guruvayur Temple. For any devotee visiting the temple and a food enthusiast who is in town to sample local cuisine, this restaurant should definitely be on their checklist. I highly recommend it, looking forward to...
Read moreHave been visiting Gokulam Vanamala for quite a long time - right from when it was Vanamala Kusmam. While there are some positive changes I feel that the overall experience has declined. First - The parking. There is barely space for 8 vehicles. Parking inside the hotel gates can lead to scratches and dents, parking outside exposes you to a lot more threats. Second - The Marriage 'Hall'. There is just not enough space for marriage ceremonies inside the hotels. Waiting time at lifts increase, your orders slow down and you virtually have to elbow your way out of the lobby. Third - The quality of food is terrible now. Just horrible. Fourth - Despite the face lift, the state of many fittings ate bad. Noticed many things almost on the verge of falling off. Fourth - Sleep Quality. People keep walking the corridors and talking loudly. Sleep quality is a major casualty. The last issue is the strong lotion they use in the stinking bathrooms. When they are used it masks the odors but then it wears off. Considering the above I do not recommend this hotel except unless there is no...
Read moreWe visited for a one night stay in close proximity to the Guruvayur temple. This hotel probably is living a little bit off it's legacy now, and that is way beyond export date. Rooms are compact for the price. Everything inside is showing its age. AC would not work properly in one room unless set to 18 deg C, another room would not latch shut, a light won't turn off at all inside a wardrobe etc etc. Lots of little issues that point to general lack of maintenance. I would dare not shower under the shower head after looking at its condition. Lots of great facilities but you have to ask for everything. Rooms are not 100% restocked at check in, they forget things. Their AC double room rate is nearly 3000 rupees, and to me some of these are below acceptable at that price, even for a location like Guruvayur. Some of the staff don't really pursue customer service or even have a pleasing manner - just seem arrogant and disinterested - especially at the restaurant. The front desk and main hotel staff are very good in comparison. So yeah, I may not...
