DUNIYA GUEST HOUSE — Hotel in Kolkata

Visited this guest house for one day stay due to medical treatment of my spouse in Kolkata. 1st I will mention the CONS. Cons 1.Quite far(Approx 900meter) from Hazra Crossing/Jatin Das Metro, situated inside a Dingy Side Street. 2.Absolute worthless lady receptionist, just argues illogically on every issues, thinks she's some big shot managing some Taj or Oberoi, She has lame & idiotic excuses for every problem in her guest house, she's doing big favour by giving room in her dingy guest house.Too much irritating kind of person who doesnt understand problems. 3.Quite costly as far as gound floor room is concerned(I took ground floor room As I had my patient wife), bathroom is not attached to room,its situated outside, room exceptionally small as compared to fare(Rs-1240/-). 3.Non functional TV with remote(not working). 4.Fan runs in full speed with no Air throw. 5.Billions of Mosquitoes in this Dengue season. 6.Non functional wall clock( needle stuck at 7.45). 7.No drinking water facility, u will get bottled drinking water with price Rs.10/- extra on every bottle, I bought once(2-liter at Rs-40/-, for that Rs-40/-,receptionist reminded my in long argument(40/- taka ta diye din,40/- taka ta diye din,chik,chik chik,bla bla,bla) , rest I bought 5-Liter jar from outside at quite cheap rate,No good fooding facilities available in nearby locality. 8.Last but not least...NO ELECTRIC POWER BACK, IF POWER CUT HAPPENS IT WILL BE WHOLE DARK & HOT INSIDE ROOM. Pros: 1.Bed was OK. 2.Water Supply in Bath room was Good. 3.Bathroom was moderately clean. 4.Receptionist gave me 5-nos mosquito repellant agarbathi/dhoop kathi, of which one was unused, which I left at the hotel room for their use, or else she might charged money for that.) 5.Gave 1-nos dettol soap for bathroom use.

Overall not a pleasant...

So I had to search for a hotel for my family to live during the Durga puja vacations in kolkata.||And I found this hotel called - "DUNIYA LODGE" (photos are attached). They clearly said that the rooms are 1000 sq ft + and 2 queen sized zed bed will be available, but upon reaching there we were shown a small room with one bed and nothing else in it. It was completely different from the picture advertised and we were said to pay 1k extra for the big room that we pre paid before. At this point we understood it was a scam as the app mentioned that breakfast and other refreshments like tea and coffee will be free too but that weren't even giving us drinking water without extorting us. Upon arrival we had to show the receptionist almost all th bills and screenshots that we had booked the room , like they were so delusional. They didn't even know who booked their hotel. Man it was exhausting to argue with that egoistical lady. I have the whole conversation in camera and I'm ready to take action. Kindly tell me what to do as it's been 5-6 days till that event.||||As the condition of the place goes - It was despicable and not advisable for human living. The rooms and bathrooms were leaking and walls were yellow and looking like poop and the appliances and furniture...

Absolutely horrible experience. The rooms were really dirty. The worst part was, despite complaining about the situation in the room, they cleaned it almost 5 hours after check in and no matter how many times i complained about the bed sheets, pillow cover and blanket cover on the room they never changed it. When I complained to the receptionist she told me that everything was changed when I checked in. No matter how bad your situation is, please don't stay...
