Hotel Sunshine Airport — Hotel in Mumbai

DO NOT CHOOSE THIS BY THE PICTURES! Friendly staff, somewhat service minded. Very laid back atmosphere. Nice with the withdrawal from the street, so you don't get disturbed by the traffic, except the weekly noisy parties going on at the Marriott Hotel next door, the noise from other guest having doors open with TV going on or their kids running in the hall, it's pretty quiet. Madrasses are good. If you want to be close to the airport and center of Mumbai, it's a good location.

With that said......do not trust the pictures on Google maps! It's not even close to the real thing. Go and see for yourself. Rooms are moist and smell of moth-balls - can be removed though. Bathroom is very basic. No hot water. Toilet seat was broken. Aircon broke down as well. There are quite a lot of mosquitos, and the hygiene is not great, but ok. I personally saw a mouse running across the kitchen floor and a rat at the outdoor bistro. Didn't see any rats inside though, thank god! There are a lot of rats in Mumbai city all over, so it's probably a general problem. Indian people are very relaxed about it. So just be prepared.

Staff do not speak English well, except the reception staff. Room service was a challenge. We never got, what we ordered. It was a hassle to get food and drinks every day. This we experience in other and better hotels as well though, so maybe a general problem with getting English speaking staff.

The hotel was quite expensive, compared to, what we are used to, and we didn't feel, we got value for our money. We got a very small room on the first floor and paid 3300 per night. But it was the best option we could find in a hurry and found later that hotels in Mumbai are just that expensive, unless you go a bit outside the...

Good budget hotel specially if you are coming to go abroad or drop someone, this is a very good place.

Some improvement can be done to maje it more usse friendly like

1. morning breakfast is fixed , it can be atleast told to the guests so that they can make up their mind. I got Missel pao and it was awesome but it was not good before hand so thar many who dont like that can makeup their mind for something else. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and i have seen people got upset to see missel pao their breakfast and that too without being informe and without providing any sustitude.

2. the airport drop and pickup is advertised as free but the driver can put you in an awkward situation when he expect you to give him some tip and wait for it. I think if they put a small charge over their pickup and drop it will not make any difference to clients pocket as it is already an add-on, service but when you expect them to drop you free and you have to think what reasonable amount you can give to driver.....

Apart from these two improvement this hotel is an excellent place to stay for international airport departure...

This was probably the worst experience I have had in hotel stays. When we checked in (2130hrs) - we noticed that the water in the bathroom was smelling like drainage. the hotel decided to clean the water tank. Needless to say this took a long time. then they moved us to another room. That room was not big enough to fit us in and the water still was not there. When water started to trickle through the tap - we realised that the water heater was not working and we did not have hot water to take a shower. this went on for a while. then the hotel decided to give us hot water in a bucket to wash ourselves. we ended up going to sleep at 3 am in the morning after all this annoyance! Next day we saw that we had rashes on our arms and legs....

PLS AVOID HOTEL SUNSHINE!!

I know its tempting to think its close to the airport and so on.... your health is not worth travelling 10 extra miles or...
