I stayed at Ibis Hotel Santacruz for over two months, and while the experience had a few positives, overall, it left much to be desired.
Rooms:
The rooms are just okay – functional but nothing exceptional. One major issue is with cleanliness. Room cleaning services are extremely poor. If there’s something on the floor (like a piece of paper), it will stay there untouched for days. Housekeeping doesn’t use vacuum cleaners, and it shows.
Laundry:
The laundry service is unreliable. Items often get mixed up, and you might receive someone else’s clothes. You have to call the reception multiple times (at least 3–4) to get anything sorted, which becomes frustrating over time.
Breakfast:
Breakfast is very repetitive with a limited variety of items. The service from the breakfast team is average — not bad, but nothing to write home about either. What’s most disappointing is the hotel’s policy of charging ₹100 just to deliver a plate set to your room. That’s quite unreasonable, and it feels like the hotel is trying to overcharge for basic services as if it were a hotel in London or Australia.
Staffing & Service:
The hotel clearly needs to increase manpower across departments — housekeeping, front desk, and food service all seem understaffed or overstretched.
Positives:
Despite the issues, there were some standout staff members who made a difference during my stay:
Sayli and Javed from the Housekeeping team Priyal and Shurti from the Breakfast team Jhalak at the Reception The entire Security team, especially Gous and one lady, who were always helpful and courteous.
Conclusion:
If you’re staying just for a night or two and don’t expect much, this hotel might work. But for a long stay, the lack of proper cleaning, inefficient laundry, and below-par service makes it difficult to recommend. There’s potential here, but the hotel seriously needs to step...
Read moreI rarely write such harsh reviews, but my recent stay at Ibis Mumbai BKC (Accor Group) left me shaken and determined to warn others.
I had booked an airport drop for 5:30 AM. By 6:10 AM, no cab had arrived, no one had bothered to notify me, and I was left stranded in a state of panic. Had I known earlier, I would have booked an Uber myself. Instead, I was left scrambling, stressed, and dangerously close to missing my flight. This is not just poor service – it’s negligence.
When I escalated, I was assured (on WhatsApp, in writing) that my drop would be refunded. The hotel staff – including Neha Verma and General Manager Sandip Satange – repeatedly promised resolution. Yet the next morning, I was met with confusion, backtracking, and new excuses. I had to send them my receipt, chase them relentlessly, and even then, they casually mentioned “2-3 days” for a refund that was already promised the previous night.
This ordeal caused severe stress and a blood pressure spike at the airport. Instead of accountability, I was offered “a complimentary pick-up next time” – as if that erases the ordeal of being stranded, lied to, and humiliated.
Accor is supposed to be a global hospitality brand. But if this is how they treat loyal guests – broken promises, zero reliability, and absolute disregard for guest wellbeing – then I strongly urge fellow travelers to think twice before booking here.
For me, this was the last straw. Unless they show real accountability, I will be cancelling all future trips with Accor/Ibis.
Verdict: If you value your time, health, and peace of mind,...
