Pop Tates BKC — Restaurant in Mumbai

We visited pop tates new outlet at bkc! Parties have always been very close to my heart and it was my go to place in my college days. This is where I had cheese jalapeño poppers for the first time in a restaurant and it’s my favourite starter ever since.

What we had? Jalapeño poppers: my all-time favourite dish filled with yummy cheese and soft with chipotle cheese sauce.

Paneer africano: the Paneer voice is very soft and the sauce was a bit tangy. It was nice having a different taste rather than Classic Paneer tikka.

Veg Oriental Sizzler: are you often confused as to what to take between noodles and rice in a sizzler? Why not have both? This Chinese is law allows you to get the best of both worlds! The Chinese sauce is delicious with exotic veggies, including zucchini, baby corn 🌽 , mash, potatoes 🥔 and capsicum 🫑 and cheese 🧀 and French fries 🍟

Mocktails:

Hazelnut, vanilla milk shake : this was Vennila ice cream and tasted exactly like that.

Passionfruit, lemon ice tea: this was very refreshing in the summer!

Desserts:

Chocolate cheesecake: this was a very very intense heavy chocolate cheese cake topped with a chocolate Macron.

Red velvet cupcake 🧁: the frosting on the red velvet cupcake was the best part of it so much butter and cream cheese and vanilla and...

Another new place crops up at the BKC core, and the ambience is quite worth the hype. The place is large , well let , lots of TV's , good music system and very well made. The place has good vibes, the staff is friendly. We ordered a Sizzler and a kiddies platter for our young one. The kiddies platter is well set with all the kids favourites in one combo along with a toy , so children are very happy . Our order took more than the expected time, so on reminding the waiter we were told that there was some goof up from their end because of which our order was not processed. We were at the end of our patience when the waiter came up with this bad news along with a complimentary Nachos with Cheese Sauce. and he apologized. My kid was over joyed !!

The food was good and worth the wait time.

I was looking forward to unwinding with friends after work, but this place didn’t quite provide the relaxing atmosphere we were hoping for. The music was way too loud, making it almost impossible to have a conversation without shouting. It felt more like a nightclub than a casual hangout spot.

On top of that, the air conditioning was inconsistent—one area felt like a freezer while other parts of the place were uncomfortably warm. It was frustrating trying to find a comfortable spot to sit.

As for the food, it was just fine—not bad, but nothing special either. Definitely not a place you’d come to just for the food.

If you’re looking for a lively, high-energy spot, this might be fine, but if you want to relax and actually talk with your friends, this isn’t the best choice. Hope they can adjust the volume and fix the...
