Horrific incident today @PresidentMumbai where a valet knocked my father (senior citizen) to the ground while aggressively backing up. He screeched the car while backing and thanks to the car's auto breaking system, it was able to stop or else he would have been gravely injured. I am seriously shocked at the lack of training given to the valet. No help was provided by the hotel. Two managers came to ask what happened. We requested several times for the footage but they kept refusing over and over again. Such a casual attitude towards one's life is not appreciated. No hotel in the world is worth risking one's life.
Reply: It is really disturbing to know that you refer to this near death experience as an unpleasant experience. Had the car not stopped on its own, your valet would have definitely run over my father. It was a fatal incident calling it unsafe is downplaying.
No staff from your end even had the basic courtesy or sympathy to offer a chair, water or a first aid kit to a senior citizen who was knocked to the ground.
Mr. Majid Akhtar and Mr. Jay Das were more worried if the image of hotel would be tarnished.
When asked for the footage from your security head Mr. Prashant Bhosle to show to the doctor, he refused to give it. He stated he can explain it to the doctor. More than the reckless incident, the actions of your staff is far more dangerous and aggravating.
There was not a single ounce of remorse shown by your staff. Fortunately I value my life and self being more than you do, so will not make the mistake of visiting your property. Just a side note, a sorry goes a really long way.
Please be courteous since you are in the...
Read moreMy family and I would like to thank the management at President, Mumbai - Ihcl seleQtions for going above and beyond during our stay at their 5 star hotel. I had an issue with something that occurred at the hotel but once I made the management aware of the issue, not only did they resolve the problem, they went the extra mile and went beyond our expectations, for which we are very thankful.
I’d also like to thank all of the staff at President. The staff are extremely family. The staff at the reception, the staff that take care of room service requests, the security at the front of the building, even the random staff that I walk past are very friendly. It’s evident that this hotel treats its staff well, because as Richard Branson once said “clients do not come first, employees come first. If you take care of your employees, they will take care of your clients”
Last but not least, my daughter and I have a bit of a sweet tooth so we have been going to the restaurants within the hotel over the past couple of nights after my wife goes to sleep (to avoid getting told off 😆) the desserts are really nice, but what I love the most is how well they have treated us even though we haven’t spent much money on each visit. The staff within the restaurants are super friendly and have treated my daughter like a princess.
Thank you for being so accommodating and once again thank you for resolving the...
Read moreVisited in April. India. Mumbai.
How times have changed! Two decades ago, the President hotel may have been the epitome of luxury in the heart of Colaba. The rooms are cramped and musty, with a persistent odor of dampness seeping from the ancient air conditioners. Flat-screen TVs from the early 2000s hang on the walls, while tiny beds with rock-hard mattresses offer little respite. The furniture is worn and outdated, and the lighting is dim. To add insult to injury, the walls are paper-thin, making it impossible to tell if that incessant ringing is coming from your own room or your neighbor's. The bathrooms are equally diminutive and poorly lit. The complimentary toiletries are of the cheapest quality imaginable—the shampoo/conditioner combo leaves your hair feeling like straw, giving the impression that the hotel is cutting corners at every turn. The toilet is exposed, with no privacy, and the flimsy toilet paper hardly befits a five-star establishment. Outside, the hotel faces a never-ending construction site, adding to the overall “charm” of the place.
Despite its faded glory, the President hotel still commands a hefty price tag befitting a five-star hotel. However, the reality falls far short of expectations. With so many other options available in Mumbai, I strongly advise travelers to look elsewhere to avoid...
