So I was here to try out their new #SunsationalSummer menu which they have introduced recently to beat the heat. The outlet is pretty spacious with lot of comfortable seating and the staff too is quick and mannered. You are greeted by the staff with a loud 'Welcome to Chaayos' when you enter the cafe. One look at their vast tea menu is enough to make a Chai lover go crazy! đ
So first I started with their three new shakes which they have introduced especially for the summers!
The CAKE SHAKE was pure chocolate heaven which gives you the feel or drinking a cake with chocolate chips too in between.
Next is their MOTICHOOR SHAKE which I was dying to try since their menu came out some time back. I'm a big Motichoor Laddoo fan and this satiated my cravings of the laddoo. It has a very distinctil taste of Motichoor Laddoo and is a must try.
And the third shake was their KULFI SHAKE which was my most favourite among them all. It was crazily amazing đ Their was sabza too in it which gave even more awesome feel to the shake. I will 100% recommend this shake.
And another thing they have put on their summer menu is the SPICY SUMMER SALAD. They have it in chicken and paneer and I chose the Paneer salad. It was tasty, healthy and filling. It had huge chunks of paneer, onions, lettuce and was very well prepared.
Then of course, being a chai lover I just couldn't ignore having one of their teas. If it would have been upto me I would have had all of their teas but alas I was already full so I went on and tried their SHAHI CHAI. A perfect shahi chai, I would say. It was so rich with dry fruits and so very creamy, I was in heaven after indulging into this Royal treat.
And there's nothing that can beat a BUN MASKA accompanied by Chai so I had that too. Perfectly buttered and so tasty when dipped into the tea!
Another of my favourite was their BUN SAMOSA. I completely love samosas and here too I got a really delicious one packed between to buns and some imli (tamarind) chutney.
The OPEN LOADED PANEER PARATHA is a very filling and tasty paratha. It's huge and loaded with paneer in makhani gravy. The paratha too is crispy. Plus, for the non vegetarians, they have an option of OPEN LOADED CHICKEN PARATHA as well.
The next thing I tried was their SICILIAN CHICKEN SANDWICH. A filling of spicy Italian style grilled chicken went into two Focaccia breads and was a delicious dish to try. The quantity was good and there were lot of juicy pieces of chicken.
Even their CHICKEN KEEMA CUTLETS are a personal favourite of mine. Accompanied with the dip they serve it with, it tastes just great. Have them piping hot and I'm sure the chicken lovers will love this dish.
And finally I ended with the delectable Banana and Walnut Cake which had a superb taste of banana and lots of walnuts in it. It was super soft and moist and had all the good qualities of a perfect, delicious cake.
If you are looking for a way to heat this Mumbai heat, chill out at Chaayos with their latest new drinks or a cup of Chai with friends and family. Pocket friendly and...
Read moreA chain specially curated for the chai-loving nation, Chaayos has constantly been trying to upgrade themselves by experimenting with their menu. After previously trying their Monsoon & Winter menuâs, I finally tried their Summer menu now.
The shakes were everywhere, whether it was bloggerâs Instagram pages or on posters across billboards.
So we started with that, and hereâs my personal take on it:
1.Kulfi Shake It was like melted Malai kulfi, overloaded with nuts and had a really strong kesar-like essence. For those who love Kulfi might even enjoy this, but I would rather go for the kulfi itself.
2.Cake Shake Quite milky, decently thick with bits of cake in every sip. It was a simple drink, but my preferred one of all the three.
3.Motichoor Shake The most innovative of all, but I wasnât impressed. Just like the kulfi shake, this one had a strong kesari essence which was overpowering the taste of the motichoor and had a strong familiarity to the kulfi version.
Overall review of Shakes: The shakes in an attempt to be made rich, had become really heavy on the stomach and due to the summer heating our bodies up from inside, it was not possible for us to finish even one shake by ourselves. Did not seem appropriate as a Summer drink. I would have preferred more versions of their Iced teas rather (which I love! especially the Aam Panna, which makes for a perfect summer drink)
4.Chicken Salad Fresh veggies & chunks of chicken with a spicy-tangy dressing, well distributed throughout. This is strictly for salad lovers. It had way too many veggies for my liking and I am the wrong person to review healthy salads.
This was all from the summer special menu, but I also tried 2 items from the regular menu:
5.Baarish wale pakore Since I didnât get to try them due to unavailability during their Monsoon menu, I gave it a shot this time and it was quite appetizing ! Onion, paneer and chilli pakoras, seasoned in a spicy-chatpata flavor. But why no dip/chutney with it? That felt missing here!
6.Kulhad Butter Chicken Kulcha Spicy Butter chicken served in a kulhad, which gave a slightly earthy taste to the dish, which I liked. The butter chicken was not traditionally creamy and heavy, which I also liked and tastewise made for a decently good dish. The kulchas were soft and fluffy, but two kulchas were a lot !
Since I have been to Chaayos several times before, it wouldnât be fair to rate it only based this experience since there a lot of other items which are really praiseworthy here (you can check my review of the Oshiwara & Versova outlets) Hence, the rating .
With all Season menuâs done, what is going to be your next experimentation Chaayos? Will have to wait and...
