Vihara is a part of Tunga international which has recently changed its name from Vihar to Vihara, it only serves vegetarian food and basically a family dine-in restaurant.
They have an eye-catching decor which gives a very lively feeling and according to me puts a person in a better mood. The staff there was very polite and helpful.
The following are the dishes I tried from there-
2)Hilltop paneer- This starter was very eye-catching as it was in lemon yellow colour and it had very traditional taste, hunger was the dominant taste
3)Paneer lapetedar- This dish really went very well with fried rice, it had lot of veggies in it. It was sweet and spicy.
4)Nawabi biryani- The biryani was more like a veg pulao which was very simple and didn't have any strong spices in it.
5)Veg fried rice- this was a simple fried rice and I tried it combining with vegetable in burnt garlic sauce, it was really good.
6)Chilli Milli seekh kebab- the kebab were delicious and it was garnished with lot of grated cheese which added more flavour to it.
Bread- I tried 4 types of bread and each bread had 4 pieces of it. They are very fulfilling and can go with everything.
Rasgulla- Two large pieces of them were given in lot of sugar syrup which wasnt very sweet and that was just great. I couldn't resist myself from eating it altogether.
Chickoo halwa- this was the best way to end your meal. The halwa was sweet and small pieces of Chickoo could be felt in mouth which made it more enticing, it was cooked in butter and garnished with dry fruits. I don't like Chickoo at all but this dessert I finished at one time. Highly recommended
They are really good at what they do and hence they are where they are today. One should really go there to have a good time with family and friends and how can you miss the delicious vegetarian...

Service: 1/2* Our Check in Time was 12:00 PM. We reached the Hotel at 12:30 PM. Yet we were not provided with a room until 1:15 PM. 45 minute waiting period in the lobby with not even a glass of water offered. The Management Officials kept moving across to & fro in their ill fitted suits without a care in the world. To make up for the inconvenience, they apparently upgraded the room. If the upgraded room was pathetic, I wonder what the actual booked room felt like.. Technicians kept ringing our bell when the service was requested by another room.
Location: * 3 Stars It's located about 10 minutes away from Hiranandani Powai where all the famous frequented Food Joints are located.
Room: * 1 Star It's Old, Unmaintained, with a noisy bed, broken tiles & depressing paint. It's noisy. There was some loud music and drunk men conversing on the top of their voices. So disturbing. The lighting in the room too is gloomy. The air conditioning was good.
Bathroom: 1star It just feels dirty with dirty corners and super old almost broken fittings. The tub too felt super old...
Food: 2 Stars The Chinese Food ordered in the room was delicious and not too expensive. The Breakfast Buffet was disappointing. The only Non-Veg items available was this sad tasting chicken ham, boiled eggs & omelette. There was the usual breakfast cereal & toast. Needs an upgrade.
Definitely never booking a room...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at the International Tunga hotel in Mumbai, and I have to say, it was a fantastic experience. The hotel itself is modern and well-maintained, with spacious and comfortable rooms.
The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, going out of their way to ensure that my stay was as enjoyable as possible. They were always available to answer any questions or provide assistance with any issues that arose.
The hotel's location is also great. It's situated in the heart of Mumbai, close to many popular tourist attractions, including the Gateway of India, Elephanta Caves, and the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya. There are also plenty of shops, restaurants, and cafes nearby, so you'll never be short of things to do.
The hotel's amenities were also very good. The on-site restaurant served delicious food and the fitness center was well-equipped. The hotel also offers a great swimming pool, which was perfect for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing.
Overall, I highly recommend the International Tunga hotel for anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay in Mumbai. The hotel exceeded my expectations and the staff truly went above and beyond to make my...
