In Brief - Good: Food - Excellent fresh ingredients well prepared. Ambiance - Light and cheerful Bad Parking - street parking limited due to police station using it to store cars I was looking for another similar restaurant nearby when I saw this place. It looked ok and I was already tired. As soon as I walked in I liked the place. Conservative and very simple decor. Good quality simple furniture. Nothing pretentious. A very refreshing relief from the constant move towards "quirkiness" in hotels and restaurants. Menu, Ingredients, and Preparations The menu is NOT multicuisine. Yippee, at last, a place that concentrates on doing one thing well and not doing many things with mixed and mediocre results. The seafood selection was extensive and is displayed in ice with market tags showing the date it was purchased. The food was excellently prepared and simply but well presented. A very extensive wine list with no spirits tells you yet again that the management know their customers and who they want. Very family friendly. Service I found the service was very professional. The staff obviously knew their menu well and were helpful in choosing the dish that suits the customer's preferences. I found the service prompt and attentive. Value I thought the pricing was a little high for the food but then the restaurant is obviously aimed at wealthy customers. The wines were reasonably priced, unlike the 5 star hotels, who rip off the customer with extremely high prices on locally produced alcohol. Accessibility for wheelchair users. A good place for people who have problems with stairs including those who use wheelchairs. There are very minimal level changes.

I have been to this place before and gajalee is one of my favourites for sea food when in Mumbai. Ambiance: This is a nice place with all air conditioned sitting area and you would find lot of families coming here. The place is clean and well lit and ambiance is nice. Service: Great service like always the staff recommendations are spot on and service is fast. I have always found the staff of most of the gajalee outlets to be happy to serve and know their food. Drinks: This outer serves alcohol, I had beer which was served with a complementary portion of papads and chutney (This chutney is one of their own creations and is super yummy). They have wine as well if you want. I don’t think they serve any hard liquor at this outlet just beer and wine. Food: I ordered my favourite prawn pickle it is the best spicy, tangy and tastes best with chapati or Ghavne, I tried both this time. This time I tried bombil fry which is also called the Bombay duck though it is a fish. The same was fried and went well with the beer. Though it was too fried and less on meat, thin slices of fish dipped in batter and fried. For the main course I ordered a surmai fish curry with rice, the same was nice and tasty. Cost: my meal for two starters and one main course with roti/rice and two beers costed me around 2300 INR which is quite reasonable as per me. Overall this is one of the best places to try the seafood and not so expensive cost in Mumbai. The service and food is top notch. A definite visit is you in the area.

Gajalee, the heaven for sea food lovers! If you are reading this, I would highly encourage you to try out at least one of their locations spread across Mumbai. They have an expansive sea food menu offering local Maharashtrian sea food delicacies and other delicious preparations from around the country. If you aren’t into sea food there’s limited chicken preparations and vegetarian offerings as well but, I wouldn’t really get into that here. I’ve always ordered the Tandoori Pomfret and they have never disappointed me! Make sure you order this before anything else since, it takes a while as it’s made fresh. How do I know that? Well, for starters they bring out the raw fish to you so that you can select which one you want to eat. Prices are set as per the size and weight. I really love this part of the dining experience here. Also, I highly recommend you try their Surmai Koshimbir which is boneless fish made in green curry and their freshly prepared Solkadhi! The staff here is highly attentive of your needs and is quick and efficient. By the way, This particular location has Valet parking so, that was an added benefit.
