I had a 3 night stay here recently for a Business tour. The summary review is as below: Location: Excellent, right next to India Gate and really beautiful surrounding and view Property: Old world charm and grandeur – very luxurious in first look once you are inside Staff: Terrible! The experience of Check-in, stay, restaurant/s, housekeeping etc were all below average. There was a lot of crowd and occupancy, no doubt, but a property has to be prepared for that and not get overwhelmed by it. Most of the staff and fresh and inexperienced to handle this level of property. Room: The rooms were big, no doubt, as this is a very old property. But not very well done up. Everything was very dark coloured in the room – in fact even the washroom walls and floor were dark and blingy. The lights in the room and the bathroom did not have enough illumination to counter the dark interiors giving an overall dark-ish and dingy feel – even killing the feeling of space in a big room. Food: The breakfast spread was small, very limited options, the service was not satisfactory, the space was not good enough to cater to occupancy (there were queues outside to enter for breakfast on all 3 days), food was average. Specific issues: The hotel does not have the correct options to offer to people who have back/spinal issues. Business travelers face these issues very often and most good hotels now have several alternate options to offer to them. This hotel unfortunately was unprepared for this. This needs...
Read moreI was more than a little shocked by this last experience. We went there for a late breakfast. Initially we were told that the coffee shop was full since the resident guests were having breakfast. We told them we were happy to wait for a table to get free, and that we'd like to look at the ala carte menu. A couple of minutes later they told us a table was available and ushered us to it. We asked for a menu again, this time confirming that ala carte was available. 10 minutes passed and even though there were staff hanging around, no one really appeared to be doing anything. We asked for a menu again, and a couple of minutes later, someone came over and started to give us a menu... when someone else jumped in, snatched the menu away, berated the person who was giving it to us and told us that this wasn't the right menu. After another few minutes of waiting, someone came to the table to tell us they didn't have ala carte service after all. One thing about this experience stuck out. Every single person I saw in the hotel who looked like they worked there had a "Trainee" badge. I'm not sure who's there to train them, but whoever it is isn't doing a very good job. Oh well... a little more than half an hour to figure that this once good...
