Went to Sorrento for an Italian dinner with a lot of expectations. Was seated promptly. The ambience is nice with an open kitchen. We were served an amuse-bouche of smoked breads and tapenade ( Finely chopped olives in its own oil). The breads were well smoked and went very well with the delicious Tapenade. A good start to the meal. Ordered the Grappa Negroni and Calm you Down. Both were well mixed. Recommended. Ordered the truffle burrata on a bed of mushrooms. Fresh and tasty but would have been even better if the mushrooms were little pickled or paired with some sundried tomatoes. The arancini was tasty but have tasted better. The wild mushroom risotto was excellent and recommended. We ordered a pepperoni pizza but were disappointed after the risotto. Lacked flavour. All ingredients were fresh. The service was by and large good except that we had to request for water to be refilled and the billing took a while. Normally, as we had informed regarding a birthday in our group, a five star service would have ensured a small gesture. This was lacking. Maybe economics have caught up and only prices of dishes become exorbitant. Only a few Hotels go that extra mile. Anyway, all in all a good experience.

I celebrated my third birthday here recently The place is So artistically created, ambience is perfect for a pure Italian fine dining experience It simply adds to the magic of dining experience Loved it Arek was extremely humble and we can't resist ourselves from praising her She's very good 😊 Thank you arek for making my birthday special with such good recommendations and superb service The dip of sun dried tomatoes with multi grain bread is a perfect start to the meal Finish your meal with a live tiramisu Chef will finish it on your table It was simply superb We Will be visiting again soon Chefs did the good customisation We were satisfied with everything except 1 burrata al pesto pizza , it was definitely good but other dishes we ordered were better This time we visited on Tuesday suprisingly it was totally full As usual super good service We missed the sundried tomatoes dip instead of that they served olive dip but it wasn't anywhere close for me and for all 12 of us We requested the kid insisted he only wants pesto and they couldn't serve us pesto that day it was disappointing 😭😞 as the kid had nothing no pizza / pasta / risotto nothing could be served in pesto

I have to say that I was really disappointed with my visit. My wife and I visited for dinner - the hotel were trying to build up trade due to the visit of Chef Renato Bosco. We decided to give it a go! We ordered off the chef's special menu. We were served some complimentary rosemary bread – which is served in a smoke-filled glass dome – I thought my wife was going to choke! Had Mozzarella Di Pane for starters – small dough balls with a small topping of delicate vegetables and sauces. The flavours were fantastic but it’s all bread and very little substance. For mains we had cold pizza slices (not nice) and Pumpkin Risotto which was borderline cold and had very little substance or flavour. In my view the whole experience was pretentious and overpriced! Wished we had gone for the buffet upstairs! It may be that I don't appreciate fine dining - but this experience didn't do it for me. Service was great but everything else was disappointing. I've read other reviews and lots of people love Sorrento. Maybe I'll give it another go but order off the "normal" menu. By the way - I've been to Sorrento in Italy and never experienced food like this! Just saying.

We are currently staying in the hotel for our honeymoon. We didn’t want to venture out so we came to ‘sorrento’ as it’s one of the 4 restaurants the Shangri-La has to offer on site. It’s Valentine’s Day here today and the whole city seems to love it, the restaurant was busy as a result . It was decorated lovely for the occasion with fresh roses on the table, nice rose pleated napkins and nice music ambience (hence the atmosphere 4 star). The decoration aside, unfortunately the rest of the service was just so poor. From the minute we sat down, we were constantly having to ask the waiters to either take our order, remind them for forgotten drinks, ask for condiments such as olive oil/chilli flakes etc that were on all the other tables. There was also a noticeable difference in service we recieved as tourists and what the local people recieved. They were served their food (mains and starters) individually by the waiters onto there plates. One couple got a shared pizza and got served an individual pizza slice each before the waiter placed it between them. OUR mains came down with all our dirty plates, still left on the table, from our starters. The food was okay, very difficult to justify the price. To top it off it took 20 minutes and 4 people to eventually get the bill. When he came down we explained how poor the service was and we weren’t happy to pay the 10% service charge, which is automatically applied to every bill. Then before we left, the waiter proceeded to come down and say he forgot to charge us for a sparkling water and wanted payment! Honestly, for a 5 star hotel this was appauling. I’m honestly not one to get frustrated with these things but I would have expected more from a...

With a plethora of Sunday Brunches to choose from all over the city, this one is unapologetically Italian. With high quality imported meats and cheeses, Chef Luigi Ferraro's Italian Sunday Brunch at Sorrento, Shangri-La's Eros Hotel shoots to the top of my list.

Some salads and meats to start off with. There is a range of carpaccio that has been created. There is lamb, steak and octopus on offer. The best part of the carpaccio cut is the explosion of the flavours the meat provides asking with the dressing. We also try out some pecorino with smoked salami and an authentic aged Negroni to wash it down. There is also a Bruschetta trolley (Cicetti Section) to impress upon you the fresh flavours of Italy. Try out the classic Pomodoro with Rocket leaves and Parmesan cheese which leaves a mouthful of sweetness and salty flavours on the palate.

The mains of the Italian Sunday Brunch includes some of the best pastas, Neapolitan pizzas and grills available. We tried out the Casarecce with Pork Nduja and Egg Plant which exploded on our palate with the flavours. But a Risotto is always a true indicator of an Italian restaurant and Chef Ferraro nails the mushroom Risotto with the perfect amount of chalkiness. The medium rare tenderloin steak is done perfectly along with a side of roasted vegetables and mashed potatoes. There are lamb chops and pork chops along with a plethora of sea food available.

We end our meal with some desserts from all over Europe. The Chocolate Mille-Feuille and the Berry Cheesecake make for excellent ways to end a meal. This Sunday Brunch is available at Sorrento, Shangri-La's Eros Hotel for INR 3750++ with cocktails...
