This is not a hotel; instead, it's a pathetic guest house. All staff are almost in their 40s and arrogant. This guest house is mostly run by South Indians, and as you all know, they are not the customer service type of people.
If you complain about anything, it hurts them, and then they suggest cancelling the booking if you don't want to continue. Facilities and cleanliness are two different things. If you don't want to provide good service, that's fine; however, you can have good behavior towards customers and ensure your property is clean, which doesn't cost anything...right?
Their mentality sticks with the idea that it's a prime location, so they don't care about your complaints. In simple words, they are rude and arrogant, and if you're okay with that, then you can go and stay. But I am not that kind of person who can tolerate this behavior. It makes my blood boil.
You can stay a little bit further, and don't worry about the distance or anything. It's easily commutable around...
Read morePros:||- We felt safe there||- It was clean||- The staff were (generally) pleasant||||Cons:||- One of the more expensive places we stayed in India during our month-long trip||- Accommodation was spacious but extremely basic. There was no fridge, no kettle, the furniture was uncomfortable||- We asked for a double bed but got two separated singles. The mattresses were hard as rock and were far and away the least comfortable beds we slept in while in India||- In every other hotel we stayed at in India (which were similarly priced or cheaper) we were provided with two bottles of water and supplies to make tea and coffee each day. The YWCA charged us for water and you had to order down to the desk for tea and coffee. There we no personal tea making facilities and it seems they charge for someone to make it and bring it up to you||- Breakfast was underwhelming and finishes early (9am)||- There are no places to eat within a convenient distance||||Long story short - we would not choose...
Read moreA very well situated and grand guest house that has a huge property and has around 3 different guest houses built close to each other. It is at a walking distance of 1 km from Cannaught Place and has a good restaurant and give a good value for money for your Stay there. For people looking for membership, it is best you go to the YMCA as they offer memberships there. As for YWCA International and YWCA Delhi, these guest houses don't offer memberships. The best reason for getting a membership is to avail a discount on your Stay there. Apart from this the room is very well managed and cleaned everyday, I stayed in a suit at YWCA Delhi so I can tell that the suits are very spacious, the air conditioners works very nice and the icing on the cake is the quiet environment around the locality. They have basket ball court, tennis court and areas to enjoy other such sports too.
PS: The guest houses offer their hospitality to both men and women. So anyone can visit YWCA or YMCA...
