19Villamira Heritage Hotel, Puducherry, in the Whitetown area, a few streets from the beach and promenade.|A quaint small hotel with beautifully kept old style furniture. The staff are friendly and try to be helpful. This hotel has a small lift. Rooms had the usual kettle, tea/coffee/sugar sachets, shampoo, toilet roll etc. 2 bath towels provided without having to ask|I have positive but also negative experiences to share.|Our first night we were given a nice room, but with a small window that looked into the stairwell and who's door opened directly into the dining area. This was far from ideal as the thin curtain on the door showed bright light through. It was 5.45am when the consistent talking and noise outside the room started. |The hotel advertises soundproofing, which is totally untrue. The noise from guests talking, tv in other rooms, and traffic had already kept me awake until 11.45pm. The breakfast was ok, toast or Indian menu, no cornflakes. |We requested a room change for the second night. The new room's door opened onto a small landing and staircase with 2 doors to other rooms. This was so much better than stepping directly into a dining area. We also had a balcony overlooking the street and 2 windows. Other than dogs barking we had a quite sleep.|Both days husband had a short hot shower, but when it was my turn only cold water remained.|I would recommend this hotel but suggest avoid the rooms leading direct into the dining area...
Read moreSuch a quaint little place right in the middle of White Town! Loved the cozy ambiance - deluxe room size is definitely adequate. The suite room was very spacious with a separate sitting area - perfect for the evening Adda! They were so cordial and accommodating. We reached the hotel early morning and could check in early at a very nominal price. They even upgraded one of our rooms to balcony facing without any extra charge. I just loved the furniture and the overall decor of the place. It was very very clean which is a added advantage during these pandemic times. There is a small kitchen where we could get plates and cutlery, and had an RO also. Very comfortable beds, carved wooden furnitures, beautiful rooms with well maintained ACs. What more can you want for a couple of days stay in Pondi? The breakfast was basic but very filling. Service from the staff was very good. Our smallest of request were accommodated with a smile. Thanks for making our stay comfortable. Definitely will recommend this place to my family and friends. Will not choose anywhere else to stay whenever I am...
Read moreSpent 3 days in Dec 2022 in Villa Mira, spent around 3.5K per night and would like to highlight the below: The entire hotel has an old architecture and I loved the ambience. The ground floor room had a high bed (literally it came with stairs) and a cozy feeling. Surprisingly comfortable. The bathroom was clean and comes with water heater. The hotel provided water heater, cups, glasses, RO water, clean towels and toiletries. Breakfast was really sumptuous and good. One can avail terrace to dry clothes or just hang out. Its small but sufficient. Location is awesome. Walkable distance to the rock beach, eateries, cafes, market, Ashram, Ganesh temple. No reserved parking but the front lane is big enough to accommodate your car without any worries. One can try the "Just Parathas" and "Les Cafe" nearby for food. Lift facility is available for senior citizen. Lastly, loved the services and the hospitality of the staff.
Summary: Highly...
