Maison Souvenir — Hotel in Puducherry

Good Morning Friends ! I am K.Ramesh popularly called as " Appa Ramesh" - an artiste/ Dramatist/ Writer & also a Retired SBI Officer from Chennai ,who happened to stay at " Maison Souvenir " a luxurious serviced Apartment at Pondychery with my family -consisting of my better half,my daughter, son in law & grand daughter between 25 th April to 29 th April 2022 last, just a week ago ! It is a beautiful abode ! Firstly , it is centrally located with famous Mother Centre& popular " Manakkula Vinayakar Temple' just a few minutes walk away.Not alone that famous Pondy Beach is also just a stones throw from there! Likewise, very nice vegetarian restaurants of name and fame like Hotel Sarguru, Hotel Jayaram & For friends who dig north indian delicacies ,famous " Dilliwaala 6 " are very nearby ! All of us enjoy walking , is not it folks? ,it is a delight to walk along the Pondy beach early in the morning and witness the glorious Sunrise as it ascends from sea water making sea look golden ! "Maison Souvenir" owner -Ms Archana is a great host,she is kind,courteous ,very obliging like her genial Staff- Manager Sudhakar and especially the housekeeping chap Aasik who took great care , he was very polite,attentive and helpful ! The fittings ,furnitures,fixtures,lights,lighting, curtains in spacious bed rooms ,hall, dining & kitchen are all done in an artistic fashion appealing to our senses and sensibility! The potted plants in balcony look fresh and awesome! Bathrooms ,toilets are very neat ; Solar water in showers and bathroom taps with solar heated hot water keep coming even in thick of nights & early mornings ! Fridge washing machine are working very well ! They arrange cabs too at reasonable rates.i had that satisfying experience of engaging a car through them and paid a visit to holy Temples in and around Pondy within 200 kms ,infact to our surprise Asik' s Father Shri Raja - another friendly, positive ,well informed person only drove us around ,he is not alone an efficient abd safe driver but also a nice,jolly good conversationalist ! The split AC s in bed rooms & hall are working very well, keeping us ' ice cool' in ' hot summer ' ! The Kitchen has all the necessary gadgets,utensils for cooking ! It is very neatly washed and kept in an orderly fashion ! Infact we enjoyed cooking a couple of times ! The linens have all are washed and look spotless & sparkling - They change them meticulously everyday! The housekeeping is excellent ,hence Maison Souvenir is spick and span in all respects ! It all adds value to the "Maison Souvenir " serviced apartment ! I understand " Maison" means Home in French & 'Souvenir ' as we all are aware denotes " rememrance " - It i aptly, befittingly named so , as we carry good memories of our stay there! Friends,truly ,let me emphatically tell you from my own delightful experience " Maison Souvenir " is wholly & truly a " Home away from home" for all those who are blessed to stay there ! Summing up ; " Maison Souvenir " has an aesthetic beauty and sure, will appeal to all people with classy tastes !The host and her staff are amazing and the property location just on the beach, makes it a perfect choice for a weekend getaway for sure ! We were lucky to have stumbled upon this magnificent AirBnB located in the heart of White Town and very close to the Promenade Beach (~7 minutes walk). Apart from the accessibility to all the popular cafes and boutiques, what made our experience memorable was the hospitality exhibited by the host (Archana ma'am) and her team. Right from the time we booked the stay, we were kept in touch with all the facilities that were offered and all our queries were answered as well. We were called well before time to confirm the time of our arrival which resulted in one of the best welcomes that we have received amongst all the AirBnBs that we have stayed at.

Archana ma'am welcomed us with the biggest of smiles and biggest of the snack baskets which was a beautiful gesture. We had a good 10 minutes conversation with her regarding our love for music. Aashiq helped us with the parking and the luggage which is becoming rare with some of the Superhosts as well. The room offered everything that was mentioned in the listing. We were given the room on the top floor which had a personal terrace. Being on the top floor with the scorching heat of April, the A/C needed to perform at its best capacity and it did so. The closet was spacious to easily accommodate 2-3 people's clothes and belongings. It included a safe as well. The washroom was squeaky clean and the best offering was the overhead fan in it. The host did not leave any stone unturned in covering all the aspects that a great BnB should have.

I would hands down stay at Maison Souvenir next time I am visiting...

This place is really calm, spacious, bright and comfortable. I stayed here with my parents and 2 kids. Rooms - The apartment is very spacious with sunlight coming through and through. 2 spacious bathrooms is really a luxury. The place is very clean too and well maintained. The balcony was hardly used as it was hot. Facilities - The kitchen has all the basic pots and pans for basic cooking including dish washing liquid. There is induction, kettle, microwave, filter water and fridge. 24 hours hot water, AC in hall, and both rooms, fans everywhere also in the kitchen and bathroom. The rooms have enough storage space.The cots are big and the mattresses comfortable. Location - The location is perfect as it is 5 min walk from the ashram and 7 min to rock beach. The place is very safe. My mom and I went for a walk at 11 in the night to the beach and it was safe. You are literally close to everything, restaurants, grocery stores, veggies stores, coffee shops, medical store etc. Staff - Rajkumar who is the property manager is polite, soft-spoken, helpful, respectful and is available 24 hours. He was available to help us and answer all our questions when ever we needed it. Philip also was very helpful. Needs improvement - The bathroom shower was not too good as there was no pressure. The complementary breakfast could have been better. All in all we had a great time...
