After arriving Shivajinagar station spent ₹100 for a private rickshaw to the hotel. (Metered fare is just ₹30 or so). Hotel located in the heart of the city.
The nearest metro station is Deccan Gymkhana Station and is only a 10 minute walk from the hotel. A metered rickshaw is available just outside the hotel. Also, if you know the routes there is a bus stop too.
The Hotel has wheelchair access and the emergency escape routes were found to be clear. I was unable to locate emergency escape signs inside the rooms though, so please make sure you know them after checkin in (it's a good practice).
This is your typical business hotel. Reception area was well lit and we managed to get an early check-in which I appreciated. Newspapers are available in the lobby to keep you busy while the checkin process is completed. The washrooms at the lobby were clean.
Rooms are clean. Tea is provided but I didn't see packets of coffee. Good thing we brought our own. The room windows were heavily stained and could do with some cleaning.
I did notice brown hard water stains in the bathroom (which is a letdown). The management must look into cleaning this as it's relatively easy. There was no jet spray for the toilet; it used a different washing system instead (similar to those found in Korea and Japan). Liquid shampoo and soap provided.
The room phone didn't work (even after it was fixed the first time). We used mobiles to contact them on the main hotel line.
One bottle of mineral water per guest is provided daily. Alternately they have unlimited free water from the purifier. We didn't use in-room dining as there are plenty of options nearby.
One point to note is that this property is Pure Veg. The free vegetarian buffet breakfast, although vegetarian, was delicious. Five types of dishes. And tea or coffee were available upon request.
Staff were kind and my overall stay was comfortable. Would certainly stay here for 2-3 nights again. The location of this hotel is the...
Read moreThey simply cancel the bookings of the unsuspecting guests when they get a big corporate booking with conf room/lunch/dinner bookings. For this purpose, they say that the booking is confirmed & there is no need to send any advance. I tried to contact same day evening & again next morning for a confirmation note, I was simply reassured that the booking is confirmed, by the same lady who is around in the reception in the forenoon hours. If no big group booking happens, they are not worse off, guests come, they know that booking is confirmed. If a big corporate booking happens, they will simply cancel bookings of guests whom they had told that sending advance is not necessary, for this very purpose. If you are a corporate/office booking person, go ahead, this hotel will cheat to confirm your booking. If you are an individual, please become very very suspicious when they say that the booking is confirmed & there is no need to send any advance.
Five years back I stayed in this hotel with above average experience. Now possibly due to management change/reception team change/hotel policy change, it is different. If you do not get a confirmation after paying advance, be warned that this hotel is simply keeping you as an extra if no big group booking come along. At the same time, the hotel does not want you to look for other hotels while time is there, if no group booking comes they need you to...
Read moreThe hotel scores well because of its exceptional location, very near to happening places and the famous Cafe Good luck. It also scores because of its homely staff. Sopan and Renuka from reception, Dasharath and Arun from restaurant and housekeeping stand out. ||We went for a suit room. All suits( one in each floor, totally five) face roads but are totally insulated from the outside noise. Large hall and a bedroom. Well furnished rooms with lot of drawers. Brightly lit rooms unlike many hotels which sport a depressed look through dim lights. ||The AC cooled well. The bedroom has a fan as well. Bed was small ( it can fit two adults only) but was super soft. An extra bed was provided to the child. The bathroom was quite small with basic toiletries. No bath tub. Hot water effective and adequate. House keeping is courteous and neat. ||Buffet breakfast in the restaurant was limited. Puri, poha, idli, batata vada, shira, one fruit. Taste was not bad. The place is compact, finding a seat can be a a pain if you go late. Service is polite and quick. No swimming pool, no fitness centre. ||Small parking area that can host four to five cars. Driver accomodation is done at a distant property of theirs, a lodge. My driver preferred to avoid that facility. ||Book direct on phone rather than their website to save money. Plenty of restaurants in the vicinity. Finding transportation is...
