A Fantastic Dining Experience at Barbeque Nation, JM Road, Pune
I recently visited Barbeque Nation on JM Road, Pune, and it turned out to be an exceptional culinary experience. Known for its lively atmosphere, interactive dining, and extensive buffet, this outlet of Barbeque Nation lived up to its reputation. Here’s a detailed review of my visit:
Ambiance and Atmosphere
The restaurant is spacious and well-lit, with a lively yet cozy vibe. The interiors are modern yet warm, with comfortable seating arrangements that cater to both small groups and large gatherings. The live kitchen and grill stations add a vibrant touch, making the dining experience interactive and exciting.
The Star of the Show: The Grill
Barbeque Nation is famous for its live-grill concept, and it didn’t disappoint. Each table is equipped with a small grill, allowing you to barbecue your starters to your liking. The starters included a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, such as: • Veg Starters: Paneer tikka, crispy corn, stuffed mushrooms, and grilled pineapples, all perfectly marinated and flavorful. • Non-Veg Starters: Prawns, chicken tikka, fish, and mutton seekh kebabs, each grilled to perfection with aromatic spices.
The staff was attentive and kept refilling our plates with freshly prepared starters, ensuring we never ran out.
Main Course
The buffet spread was extensive, offering a wide range of Indian, Chinese, and Continental dishes. Some standout items included: • Veg: Paneer lababdar, dal makhani, and biryani. • Non-Veg: Butter chicken, mutton curry, and fish curry, all rich in flavor and cooked to perfection. • A variety of breads like naan and roti were served hot at the table.
The live counters for chaat, pasta, and kulchas added a fun element, allowing us to customize our dishes.
Desserts
The dessert section was a feast for the eyes and the palate, with options like: • Gulab jamun, moong dal halwa, and phirni for traditional Indian sweet lovers. • Brownies, pastries, and mousses for those with a preference for Western desserts. • The highlight was the live kulfi counter, where we could customize our kulfi with toppings like chocolate syrup, nuts, and fruits.
Service
The service at Barbeque Nation was impeccable. The staff was friendly, attentive, and quick to respond to requests. They also made sure we were comfortable and even asked if we had any specific dietary preferences.
Value for Money
Barbeque Nation is a great choice for those who love variety and value. The buffet is slightly on the pricier side but absolutely worth it for the quality, variety, and quantity of food. They also offer discounts and special deals occasionally, which is a bonus.
Conclusion
Barbeque Nation on JM Road, Pune, is a must-visit for food lovers. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just indulging in a hearty meal, this place has something for everyone. The lively ambiance, excellent service, and delicious food make it an experience to remember.

Read moreI had visited this place 7 years ago. at that time my review : (A) Place is very good. Ambience is top notch. Food is very good. Non-veg is good. Staff take good care of you. Good live music / singing. serve alcohol. For Non-veg people it is heaven
visited this place after 7 years my feedback We visited BBQ Deccan for a team dinner. The restaurant boasts good ambience and offers spacious seating, which makes it a comfortable spot for diners to relax and enjoy their meals. However, the buffet spread area is quite cramped, and during peak times, it becomes congested as many people gather to take the main course. This lack of space makes the dining experience less enjoyable, particularly when trying to navigate the buffet. The menu at BBQ Deccan seems to be in dire need of an update. Seven years ago, when we first dined here, crispy corn was a highlight of the vegetarian options. Surprisingly, this was still the case during our recent visit. While the crispy corn remains a favorite, it is disappointing to see that the rest of the menu has remained largely unchanged. Staples like pineapples, mushrooms, and paneer have become monotonous and fail to excite the palate. It would be refreshing if the restaurant introduced new and innovative dishes to keep the menu interesting and enticing for regular patrons. Another significant drawback is the seating. The individual chairs are uncomfortable, making it difficult to sit back and truly enjoy the food. This issue detracts from the overall dining experience and could be easily remedied with better seating arrangements. Additionally, the fact that parking is paid is inconvenient. Offering complimentary parking for BBQ Deccan customers would be a nice gesture and enhance customer satisfaction. Moreover, there is a noticeable disparity in rates between BBQ Deccan and other BBQ Nation outlets, such as BBQ Sayaji. This inconsistency in pricing is not ideal and can deter customers who frequent different locations. One positive aspect, however, is the introduction of the Happiness Gift Card. We were able to get a good deal because of it, which was a pleasant surprise and added value to our dining experience. BBQ Deccan provides a pleasant atmosphere and spacious seating, there are areas that need improvement. Updating the menu, addressing the seating comfort, and resolving the pricing disparity could significantly enhance the dining experience. Additionally, offering free parking would be a thoughtful touch that customers...
Read moreVisited Barbeque Nation at Deccan today with high hopes, but sadly, the experience was far from satisfying. This place used to be a go-to for good food and great barbeque vibes, but things have gone downhill drastically — especially when it comes to food quality.
❌ Frozen & Tasteless Food
All the non-veg starters — from the chicken to fish to prawns — were clearly frozen and lacked any freshness or real flavor. The texture was rubbery, the spices seemed forced, and the grilling experience felt artificial and bland. Even the signature barbeque dishes lacked the smoky essence they were once known for.
The veg options were no better. Paneer was chewy and cold inside, mushrooms were clearly not fresh, and even basic items like corn and grilled pineapple tasted stale and uninviting. The marinations lacked depth, and every bite tasted like it came out of a frozen packet straight to the skewer.
⚠️ Declining Taste & Quality
The taste has dropped big time. What used to be a vibrant and flavorful dining experience now feels like a substandard buffet running purely on name and past glory. Barbeque Nation was once about fresh grills and consistent quality, but this Deccan outlet is nowhere close anymore. It almost feels like they are cutting corners on ingredients and freshness, which is unacceptable given the pricing.
🥱 Main Course & Desserts – Equally Underwhelming
The main course was forgettable — oily gravies, overcooked rice, and again, that same “frozen” feel even in the biryani. The desserts section was not restocked properly, and what was available looked old and tasted stale. Even ice cream seemed half-melted and re-frozen.
💸 Not Worth the Price
For the price they charge, this level of food quality is simply not worth it anymore. They seriously need to relook at their quality control, sourcing, and preparation methods.
⭐ Final Verdict:
Not Recommended. Barbeque Nation Deccan is no longer the dining experience it once was. If you're expecting fresh, flavorful barbeque food, you'll walk away disappointed. There are much better options around in Pune now. This place seriously needs to address its quality and freshness issues before...
