The Samrat Hotel — Hotel in Pune

Very helpful staff. Decent rooms. Great location. I wrote the above 2 years ago. Now I take back every word I wrote. Based upon my past experience, I booked two non AC rooms three months in advance. We checked in around 5.30 pm. The outflow pipe of the WC was leaking in one of the rooms, a fact that was noticed and immediately reported at 9.30 pm to the Reception then manned by Mr Javed. Beware of this man if you step into the hotel. He is a dark, middle aged, balding man. He asked us to remain in the room till another one became vacant - he would check up and let us know when. The next morning when I raised my voice and expressed my displeasure at having awarded such a room despite booking three months in advance, the supervisor was sent to examine the issue. Apparently he had been present in the hotel till 10 pm the previous night but Javed had not felt the necessity of involving him for such a serious issue. After the supervisor reported back, the GM of the hotel , who was present then, had us allotted a spare AC room in lieu of the defective room. Will not make the mistake of staying here again. Decent rooms and not too clean bathrooms. The problem is with service and food! Read further to understand our experience. I stayed with my family with the kids.

Very close and walkable from the railway and bus station. The hotel is at a very prime location and has good access to all parts of the city.

Here comes the worst part, service and food.

Totally disappointed with the tea and coffee we got. We ordered the room service with coffee and tea and we were totally disappointed. Tea and coffee was served in really dirty flasks and it was black and dirty and coffee was spoiled because of dirty flasks and upon informing the manager at the hotel, there was no attempt made to wave off the cost of spoiled coffee and tea provided even after reporting. Beware - no free packaged drinking water provided at the Hotel even on the first...

"The hotel's ambiance was poor, and the chair and sofa upholstery appeared quite dirty, indicating they hadn't been cleaned in a long time. I've never encountered such low-quality facilities in any hotel before. The room rate of ₹2800 per night for a basic AC room was quite high considering they didn't provide any amenities, not even toiletries.

When I requested a dental kit, I was told they didn't have one. The same response was given when I asked for a kettle for hot water and room footwear. It was disappointing that they didn't offer anything except for dirty and unpleasant-smelling towels.

Additionally, the bathroom conditions were subpar. The mirror was dirty, and the tap was loose and difficult to use. To get hot water, I had to call someone for repairs.

Overall, this was the worst hotel experience...
