he occasion was the semis clash between India-South, and we friends had no intentions of letting go this opportunity of meeting-eating-celebrating with friends. The clash was going to be a classic match and we chose a classic but now new-n-improved venue to go with it -- Status Cocktail Bar. There's a old tale doing the rounds in Pune that Status has seen it all -- the highs, the lows, the medians of this great city. Status ruled the roost before the time I was born and still standing tall among a deafening crowd of lounges, cafes, and al fresco bars.
We settled in front of a 42 incher and fired away our orders. Mostly drinks to start off and then some munchies. I preferred the Virgin Mojito and my all-time fav Chicken Tandoori. My friends settled for their fav brand of hard drinks that they always order.
The Virgin Mock tail was a perfect refresher of sorts with ample servings of mint, crushed ice, and not too sweet heady mix of sugar syrup, lemon juice and club soda. A must have in summers and highly recommended for a tensed semi final watch. Meanwhile, the Tandoori chicken came calling by -- and we all grabbed our share. The best part was it was delectable not just in the taste but also in the looks. The Tandoori Chicken was juicy and succulent, although not the best in its class but certainly good to have every time you come here. We also had the Mushrooms Fry although I didn't get to taste it.
To sum it up, Status offers a nice, comfortable, and not too expensive joint to people in and around the Sadhu Vaswani area. If you are looking to relax and gulp a few pegs of alcohol, do not miss this place. They serve good food too.
Going again -- Yes, certainly. For the food, drinks, and the service which out of...
Read moreVisited dinner on Saturday. Used to be my favourite in 2013-14. Used to have a good vibe with a decent crowd. When I visited this time, I was welcomed by cigarette smoke. It has a section upstairs where apparently they allow smoking and that smoke trickles down. Entire ambience and vibe was not particularly family friendly. It was never there in the past. So it was a big let down. We ordered food but it took them forever to serve. Surprisingly out glasses weren't even filled with water till very late into the dinner. Servers were inattentive and for small details the Captain needed to be called which was very annoying. However food was very very good. It was tasty. Didn't feel oily. It was tasty and more than made up for the lack of good service. Will I return.. mostly not because I value places with good and attentive service and I avoid cigarette smoke as I'm not a smoker. I prefer family friendly places that too with clean washrooms. (Washrooms both upstairs and downstairs were not particularly clean and didn't look hygienic). This place surely doesn't fit into my bill. I'm sad about its current situation and would love to see it back in its old...
Read moreI recently visited Status Family Resto-O-Bar with friends, and we had an amazing time! The ambience is lively yet comfortable, making it a perfect spot to hang out and relax.
The cocktails were refreshing and well-balanced, setting the tone for the evening. We especially loved the starters — the tandoori and kababs were absolutely delicious, juicy, and full of flavor. The main course kept up the same high standard, with every dish served hot, fresh, and well-prepared.
The service was excellent too — the staff was attentive, polite, and made sure our table had everything we needed.
Overall, Status Family Resto-O-Bar is a fantastic place to enjoy good food, great drinks, and a fun time with friends. Highly...
