Review after a month stay. The hotel is located in the centre of the town. Everything is close from this place so location wise its excellent. The reception guys were quick and helping. After a tiring journey, you will love the way you are picked up and the ambience of the lobby. Everyone is quick and eager to help. I would like to thank Anushka and Khushi for helping me out with everything. You were quick and efficient. You are the welcome faces of this place and I appreciate the way you guided me from checkin, during stay and checkout. The rooms are spacious with all amenities. One month stay can be a little boring but it's not a resort. The kids may get bored but still, even though the property is located in the center of the city, you have a lounge, a swimming pool, gymnasium and a gaming zone. The pool could have some more rest chairs, some swimming toys for kids and would be great if some more machines can be added to the gymnasium. There are very few machines for back and shoulder workout. Also the free weight plates are limited to 35 pounds which is insufficient. Gym trainer Mr. Dagadu Gore is a good coach who gave me good training during the stay. The lounge is good but the gaming zone can have some more options like carrom, chess. There is almost nothing for kids in the gaming zone. Internet is good throughout the property. Sometimes it gets weak on the roof side. I never lost my wifi internet connectivity throughout the property. Let's talk about the dinner and breakfast. One month of breakfast lunch and dinner outside home will definitely add to your weight and the blame is on the cooks here who cook so good that you can't say no to the delicious food they serve everytime with a happy face. You are vegetarian or non vegetarian, you have many options to choose from. Food is cooked with proper hygiene and above all, they cook and serve food with love. Always eager to go beyond limits to make sure you have a happy meal. Good breakfast, lunch and dinnee. Hygienic healthy food, served with love. I would like to thank Ritesh ji, Ajay ji, Waris ji and Mahendra ji from the kitchen team. I never had any issues with the quality of food served on my desk to me and my family. Even after dining daily for a month, we never had any gastric problems which shows they do not compromise with the hygiene served on your desk. Romie is the favourite cook of my wife. Waris ji, I wish I could continue having the dinner cooked by you. The taste of typical complicated Rajasthani dal baati churma is still on my taste buds. Ajay ji, thank you for always checking out what is served on the table and making sure we never leave the table with any complaints. Service is quick and prompt. After two days, they even knew what I want the next. Thank you Santosh ji, Amit ji, Akshay ji, Deepak ji and team for that. I am missing names here but everyone was quick. I saw days when the dinning hall was all occupied but everything went so smooth even when there was 100% occupancy. Congratulations for that and thank you for that. There are two sources of energy in the hotel. One is Maharashtra electricity board and second one is Ashwini ji. He will go to and beyond any limit for anything you need during your breakfast, lunch and dinner. The way he managed everything, be it small or big is awesome. The room service guys, laundry and other things that happen in your absence is remarkable. Sachin ji thank you for doing a great job. The hotel manager Mr. Saurabh Dubey ji is an asset to this place. Everything is perfectly managed by him. This whole stay, everything worked smoothly for me, all this worked out because you and your team was working for 24 X 7. Thank you for that. I feel like leaving home, not a hotel so I won't call this a check out. I will definitely come back whenever I have an...
Read moreThe occasion was to celebrate a family birthday and we made it a special occasion inviting cousins over as well from Mumbai.
The property is gorgeous and very well maintained and laid out. We checked in around 2pm and 1/3 rooms was not ready, so they asked us to wait for about 15 mins during which a room was readied for us to at least check-in and relax. We had the all meal plan included in our booking so during high-tea around 4.30pm, we all came down as a group and were attended to. Again - we had 3 kids and had to remind the waiting staff for 3 glasses of watermelon juice multiple times. The service was nice, but slow.
The game room is nice and worth checking out. At dinner, we were quite surprised that as a family of 10 we could not get a table at all, so there was a little bit of wait time there too. Another guest family was gracious enough to move tables so that our family could sit together. Again, the quality of service left a lot to be desired and staff seemed extremely overwhelmed. The staff had to be reminded multiple times of hot breads for the table while the curries kept getting cold. To top it all, we asked for additional spoons for the table for the kids and 2 of the wait staff kept arguing over an earlier incident from the night (not about us) right in front of us for a whole 5 mins forgetting about our request for cutlery. This in my opinion was unprofessional at all levels and was a first at a Marriott property. My sister-in-law literally walked up and provided feedback about where the spoons were kept so that she could fetch it herself.
The next morning over breakfast - was a terrible experience. The counter for breads would not write down customer orders for dosas/uttapams. Even if they remembered, they would end up serving it to the wrong tables. After a point we literally gave up and would stand at the counter for our order to be delivered hot to us. Used plates were not being cleaned in time and even after being called for and told, they would walk away and saying they would be back with them nowhere to be found.
Our family prefers to stay only at a Marriott property due to my brother's elite membership status and the loyalty he swears by about the brand. This though was probably the worst experience I have had at a Marriott property. The rating of a 6 is only because we loved the property (it is one of the better ones) and would love to be back again if we were assured...
Read moreWe went there for a 2 nt staycation to celebrate our anniversary. We booked the lounge access room.
Pre check in - While booking, I called the hotel to confirm whether the room type had a bathtub and to my surprise they couldn't give me a definitive answer. (FYI - No bathtub).
Check in - When you are checking in a 4/5 star hotel, the least you expect is the person at the desk to explain the package inclusions and the venue for each activity. All he showed was the venue for breakfast and dinner and the timing for the same. Nothing else. Nothing about the High tea, nothing about the lounge amenities. Finally i had to ask him about everything myself - where is the lounge, what is included in high tea, where will it be served, where is the pool, where is the recreation room, like every single thing!
Room - Despite booking a higher category room, they were just very basic premium entry level rooms. Neat and clean no doubt, but basic. The washroom was very poorly designed. Whenever u take shower, the whole bathroom floor became wet. The toilet seat was placed in such a way that when you sit your leg touches the glass separation on one side. Very cramped!
Lounge - We were promised inclusion of cocktails, but all there was was alcohol bottles and mixers. No bartender, no ingredients, no cocktails! The alcohol options were - Black label, Jameson, Absolut, Ballentine, Bombay Sapphire and red and white wines (Sula basic). The finger foods were delicious and plenty.
F&B - The buffets were wonderful. Very delish! Great variety and amazing taste.
Hospitality - The whole visit was very transactional in nature. It felt that the staff were doing their job because they had to and not because they wanted to. Be it the room service on the phone or the folks at the reception or the staff at the restaurant, hardly anyone had smiling faces! Let alone anything special, the guy at the reception did not even have the basic courtesy to wish us when we told him that today is our anniversary. Compare this to Taj Lands End where not only did they wish us, but also arranged for a small cake in our room with happy anniversary on it, all of this in the 5-10 mins - the time it took to reach our room. That's the difference!
So all in all, a very okay stay. Will definitely avoid next time. M sure there are other better options around.
Special mention - Aakash at the lounge was super courteous. So was the uncle who cleaned and...
