Harihar Niwas Homestay — Hotel in Uttarakhand

I would go back to Rishikesh just to stay here again! The family was lovely, welcoming and kind. I had some glitches in my plans and was maybe needing to rearrange things, and they were more than happy to help me out. Very flexible and patient with me. ||||I chose to stay here because I wanted to stay in a more Indian place, not where the tourists are in general, and this is exactly what I had hoped for. There were 4 rooms for rent downstairs and a very nice shared kitchen with a reverse osmosis filter, so drinking water wasn't an issue. With my coming and going from their place, I ended up staying in 3 of the 4 rooms. Their largest room has it's own kitchenette and refrigerator. Because of my schedule, I didn't make use of the either kitchen except the refrigerator, but if I return I will most definitely be doing cooking there.||||Their son, Anant, helped me find local places that I would never have found on my own, like the marketplace/bazaar. All in all, staying here and getting to know the family and all their help was truly a highlight of my visit, and I am so grateful to all they did....

We had a wonderful time here. We are a couple and stayed for 10 days at Harihar Niwas Homestay. The location is great. You can walk in a few minutes to the river. There are also many shops and restaurants nearby. ||The hosts are very friendly. You can have good talks with them. They are helpful and easy to contact. ||I can definitely recommend this...
